The Hertzl Museum tour is a great way to learn about the foundation of the current Israeli state, and seeing the beautiful and sorrowful cemetery is also a very meaningful experience. No one's ranks are displayed on their tombstones, so everyone who is buried on the mountain is in equal standing.

Beautiful place to see about the men and women who founded the state of Israel and a trip to the museum there to learn more the history. Also you can see the graves of the fallen soldiers who have given their lives in the defense of the country.

A beautiful, dignified memorial to the founders, and states(wo)men of the Land of Israel. BUT, do not forget to walk among the many, many graves of the rank and file solders who bravely gave their young lives so that Israel may yet exist. Both peaceful and heart wrenching at once.

The place looks like a park. It is well maintained. You can see the cemetery plots of Israeli's past leaders. Some of them buried with their spouses. There are also plots for the soldiers who died during the war fighting for Israel. Its a very moving experience just being there.

Any visit to had hertz is bound to reveal the devastating scene of families crying over the graves of their lost loved ones, many who died far too young. As you walk through the rows of headstones and read the names, you notice the military ranks - spanning from private to general - and the ages, often "Ben 18" (an 18 year old boy). The Cemetery includes meaningful tributes to Israel and Zionism's greatest leaders, such as Theodor Herzl himself, and Yitzhak Rabin.

The cemetery is located very close to Yad Vashem and often the two can be visited in the same day.
