We found this place by accident in Machane Yehudah market, and we were so glad! This place offer burgers and sandwiches with a huge choice of toppings, and also sell good local beers. Friendly owners

This is the place where you can have the best burger in town! Great flavour, quick service! And... great for dining on a budget!
Bonus: the guys who run this place are the nicest people!

took a roast beef sandwich and the meat was chewy, like a rubber band.

the place is not really clean, tables are sticky, and the food - well i've tasted better sandwiches.

This place is pretty much a carnivore's dream... beef, veal, mutton, and lamb figure prominently on the menu. Especially ironic, given that it's right across from two of the landmark fishmongers in the middle of the market. The best part of this place is that you can tell everything served there is fresh... from the burgers to the roast beef, the salads and sides, all well prepared, and decently sized portions. Cold beer also a plus. Only negatives were the booming house music and the somewhat disorganized service - but then again, if you can't handle a ba'alagan, you don't belong in the shuk to begin with.

Finally Jerusalem has decent deli style sandwich place. This place is part of the culinary revival of the Shuk, and it combines the middle eastern atmosphere with a modern design and western cuisine. You can get either a corned beef sandwich or a roast beef one. One of the owners recommended the roast beef, and boy he was right. The meat was juicy, the sauces were fresh (all made there from scratch, ask for the secret Georgian plum sauce) and didn`t take over, and the bite was divine. We accompanied our sandwich with a giant glass of pomegrant Arrak (that was kindly made stronger by one of the owners) and a beer (probably the best price in town).
This is an excellent place for people watching while you shop or for a quick and casual drink and a bite. The prices are moderate, the workers couldn`t be friendlier and the sandwiches are top notch.
