Having travelled all over Israel this hotel stands out as one of the best I visited. The staff was very helpful, efficient and friendly. The owner personally greets guests and visits with them. The food, especially the breakfasts, is amazing. I especially appreciated the happy hour, with wine and delicious snacks between 5-7 pm. The hotel is close to everything you could require, being located in a pedestrian square lined with shops and restaurants of all kinds. The walk to the Old City is only about 10 minutes. Make sure to call ahead of time to get the parking instructions. It was no problem, but had we not called, we would have been hard pressed to find parking or get to the hotel from the street. My only tiny issue was an unfortunately placed pillar in our room. Other than that it was perfect!

When I checked out of this amazing hotel I hugged the receptionist for her amazing service ( never done that before) had the Chef Orri's e-mail address and had invited him to South Afirica, and could not fault one thing in our 4 night stay. The breakfasts and afternoon teas are scrumptious, all prepared by Orri and his team. The position of this hotel is fantastic as you can walk to the old city.
The staff of this hotel can not do enough for you!! Thank you Arthur hotel for making our stay memorable.

Room Tip: If noise bothers you then ask for a back room, if you lke to be part of the street scene, choose a f...

I can't fault anything. The Arthur hotel has got it spot on. Great rooms and very clean. Bed linen good quality, comfy beds. Great location. Happy hour is good too! Down side is driving in jerusalem through the one way systems! You can park at the sister hotel, but get clear directions from the hotel first!!

This boutique hotel is in a perfect location surrounded by shops and restaurants and only a five minute walk to the old city.
The reception area and breakfast area were both very nicely decorated.
The breakfast was fresh and very enjoyable as was the complimentary afternoon tea/snack/wine etc in the late afternoon. There wasn't masses of choice but what there was, was fresh and good quality.
Our bathroom and bedroom were clean and very quiet as we were situated at the back of the hotel on floor three I think. I liked the bathroom but the bedroom just wasn't to my taste and the carpet was a bit crumpled in places. It was large though with plenty of storage.
The staff were all friendly and helpful.
Just one point to note is that the air con/heating in the rooms is set by the hotel and although you can put it on in the room it is either set to cool or heat depending on the time of year. When we went it was set to cool so we could not have any heating at all in our bedroom! Crazy! This is a deal breaker fro me! The staff were helpful and put a plug in heater into our room for us to use which did the job but I thought this policy was crazy! At first they said they didn't have a heater available but then when we returned to our room after going out one had been found and was in there. I think we would have checked out if this hadn't been the case.
Positives, location, location, location, clean rooms, good room service and helpful staff.

We found this hotel on Trip Advisor and thought we would give it a try. Over all our experience was positive but there are a few things that the management should attend to - soon. First the positives. You couldn't find a better location, a ten minute walk to the Jaffa Gate and just off the Ben Yahuda pedestrian street and close to the Light Rail Station. There is an excellent and reasonably priced restaurant just across the street. The room was a nice size by European standards and well laid out. The room was for the most part clean; although the bed cover had some stains and should have been washed. The cleaning staff should have noticed this. On one occasion the service staff forgot to leave us towels. We called the front desk and they were delivered in less than five minutes. Now for the negatives. Our room was on the fifth floor facing the street and there is a bar/restaurant that plays very loud live music from about 8:00pm to 11:30 pm. I managed to get to sleep OK but I can see where this would be a grave annoyance if you had just arrived there after a long flight. I also recognize that this criticism, is out of the control of the management. Surly there must be a noise by-law in Jerusalem? The only other criticism I have is that most (there was one exception but I can't remember her name) of the front desk employees were not that friendly. They were pleasant and did their job well but did not go out of their way to smile and greet people. I really noticed this because we stayed in a boutique hotel in Tel Aviv where the front desk staff went out of they to chat and make our stay enjoyable. That can make a hugh difference to how you perceive a place. I hope the management deals with this soon because I notice other reviewers have found the same thing. Because this hotel is on a pedestrian street, our taxi driver couldn't find it. He eventually called the desk and ended up dropping us off at a nearby hotel called The Harmony Hotel. We had no idea what was going on and it was a bit disconcerting. When anyone books a room at this hotel they should be notified about this drop off arrangement and how to get from the Harmony Hotel to the Arthur.

Overall it was a good experience and I would go back again. With a couple of relatively minor changes this hotel could go from being a good hotel to being a great hotel.

Room Tip: Maybe a room on the side of the hotel away from the street would be quieter?
