“One play, several orchestral performances...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 April 2014

The Jerusalem Theater is one of the great cultural locations in Jerusalem. I've had the privilege of attending several different performances and all of them were enjoyable. The Jerusalem Philharmonic is world class. I would not necessarily recommend it for tourists, but rather for people living in Israel looking for a dose of culture.

One thing to note: The main theater is always very warm. Wear clothing that you feel comfortable in if this affects you.

“Jerusalem Theater”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 January 2014

My husband and I have had a subscription to the Jerusalem Theater for 10 years. The theater complex has both large and small theaters, a small movie theater and a theater for the symphony with appropriate accoustics. They bring theater, music, comedy, dance and film to the complex, as well as special festivals (including international performances) throughout the year. The lobby displays changing art exhibits and there is a dairy restaurant as well as a small bookshop in the foyer. The theater is accessible for the handicapped. It is a very pleasant experience to spend an evening at the Jerusalem Theater.

“Jerusalem Theatre, Israel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 January 2014

This is Jerusalem's main center of culture, outside of the holy places, archaelogical sites and of course the Knesset (parliament) and Holocaust Memorial.

It is a fine building encompassing a number of halls. On a typical day there will be a selection of chamber music, theater, top movies, ballet - you name it. There are always exhibitions of nouveau art on the walls of the extensive foyer, which also houses a very pleasant restaurant, and a music and book store, to keep you busy as you wait for a performance, or go in for a drink after its over.

In summer there are frequent events of musicians and street artists in the grounds around the center.
