“Great staff, good hotel.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2014 via mobile

This hotel lies in east Jerusalem. Arab area and very busy. Took us long time to get there ' cause of traffic. On arrival we where greeted by Nirvana. She is the hotel juwel. Very friendly and helpfull. Knows you by name, thats nice. Makes you feel very welcome. The room was spacious and clean. Free wifi was good enough. Beds were ok and fruit brought to our room was complimantry. Cabel tv only one English channel. Ok... It's not the Hilton but we loved it. Only short walk to the old city. Breakfast was very good, lots of choise and cook bakes you a fresh omlet on the spot. Oh yes... Although there is lots of life outside the hotel, inside it was quiet. Not fancy but very good hotel with free parking.

We arrived at National to be greeted by Nirvana. Within a few minutes she had us settled in our room and she checked on us having lunch in the on sight restaurant. Nirvana called us by name and took care of our every need. Her advice helped us complete our bucket list for Jerusalem. The owner of the hotel was on sight and was also very helpful. the hotel is not a five star establishment but the service is 10 star. the restaurant there is wonderful and Ibrahem takes excellent care of you!

The hotel is located in the "arabian area of Jerusalem". Well located, walking distance to the main tourists points. Very nice people working in the hotel; Nirvana, the receptionist, is a wonderful person! I really recommend this hotel...cheap+good!

Room Tip: The hotel is big and you just need to ask for what you want. People are there to help you!

If you like friendly staff, are reasonable traveler and wanna feel at home, here is the place to stay. We spent 8 great nights there and will stay there for sure again and again. Close to all places of interest, walking distance if you are familiar with OLD city's and Grand Bazaar layouts. You can get a good taste of real Jerusalem and cover almost everything. You can get great help from the owner down to concierge.

Nice hotel and located near to the Al Aqsa mosque / Temple Mount. It takes about 10/15 mins to the mosque, which seems far but you can't find many hotels close by.

The staff are very friendly, especially the restaurant staff. The chef is always seen going round asking people. We missed the time to eat one evening due to praying late but the chef heated the food for us and served the food personally. Many many thanks to the chef.

I will stay again if I visit Jerusalem and I will recommend the hotel to everyone.

This a clean hotel with signs of past greatness and nice breakfast on the 4th floor. Attentive service. It is 5 min walking from Herod's gate. 20 to 30 min to Jaffa gate, and longer if you don't get lost. Therefore, if many of your activities are close to Jaffa gate, you will need an extra hr walking daily. A tram that goes across Jerusalem has a stop about 0.5 km from the hotel.

Quite a few Arab businesses around with better prices than in the old city. The area seems safe.

The front staff are very, very friendly and helpful. This is an Arab-run hotel so I got smiles for my knowledge of 2 or 3 arabic phrases ("thank you very much", "hello", etc.) The room was very clean and comfortable. If I remember, it was also one of the cheapest hotels in Jerusalem at about $100/night, including breakfast which was lavish (not like the hotels in France). There is a lot of honking outside the window, but I'm starting to think that is just Israel. This hotel is about 1/4 mile from the Old City and about 1/2 mile from the bus station from where you can go by tram to Yad Vashem or many of the other sights in Jerusalem. The WIFI worked fine, although I had to reconnect whenever my tablet went to sleep. The hotel let me print out 6 pages of materials on the computer at their business center for free.
