“A Great Stay”
Reviewed 3 April 2012

We stayed for 3 nights. The room was nice, staff was helpful, food was great and it was a very convenient location for us. I would definitely stay here again. Wifi in the rooms was spotty at best but computers were available for free in the Lobby where the wifi signal was also very strong and always available.

We spent three nights at the hotel and generally had a positive experience. It is a very large hotel and overrun with tour groups but deals with them quite well. The hotel is just a short walk from the Old City. The lobby is full of the tour groups at times waiting for their buses but the lounge is quite nice at night with live piano music. The room was a bit small but clean. If you really need a wash cloth, bar soap and shampoo, you need to bring them yourself. The food was average but varied. The dining room is huge and is designed for large groups. A bit more difficult for independent travellers to find a table. Staff were very professional and helpful.

I have just enjoyed my fourth stay in ten months at The Grand Court. It is a large hotel in East Jerusalem and is within easy walking distance of the Old City. The hotel is well-appointed and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is of a high standard with enough variety to suit the diverse clientele. I am always disappointed when I see adverse comments posted about the ambience and service at the hotel as I have always found it to have a welcoming and personal atmosphere despite its size. I shall keep coming back. It feels like home.

I stayed here for three days last Shavuot (June 2011) and was pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel was and the level of service that was provided by the staff. The breakfast is AWESOME, but that's typical in Israel. It's a 15 minute walk to the old city and about 25 minutes to the Kotel

Stayed at this large and fairly well appointed hotel with the tour group I was with in January, 2012. Rooms were average in size and came with usual bland decor - functional, but not overly inviting. Shower doors are small (European-style) so be prepared to be careful or get water all over the floor in the bathroom. We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel. It was buffet-style and you can see all the international tourists who have come to stay there (including us!). The food was very good - generally hot and many tasty choices (and set up not to violate any religious dietary restrictions, by my estimation), though if you are from the West, you may not recognize all the fare (especially "salads" and desserts). Staff was fine - they were not looking for any new best friends, but far from rude, just matter-of-tact.

Grand Court Hotel is a huge hotel that caters mainly to tour groups. In addition, don't expect service with a smile, with a few exceptions, the people at the front desk wont go out of their way to help you. I had arranged with the hotel to have a car waiting to pick me up at Ben Gurion airport but when I got to the Arrivals Hall , no one was waiting for me. So you're better off taking one of the airport taxis
My room was spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet was a feast, lots and lots of food. Wifi internet was available free of charge throughout the hotel and there were also some computers in the lobby available for guests to use. There isnt much to do around the hotel, you have to walk around ten minutes to get to Damascus Gate. The hotel also offers a free shuttle to the Old City.

The room was nice, beds were firm. Breakfast was tasty with lots of choices, but not real orange juice (-). The staff was friendly and helpful with walking directions and calling cabs. The big plus was the short walk to the Old City. No way did we want to drive and park there. We left the car in the free hotel garage the whole weekend and walked or took cabs.

We were bummed that they didn't have a spa. A massage would have been nice.

Gift shop has strange hours.
