We stayed at the Prima Royal in July, and we had a great experience.
It was a lovely hotel, very large and clean, with nice clean rooms. Breakfast was very yummie.
It was about 15 min walk to Jaffa Gate, but it was a pleasant walk. You also get to walk through the Mamilla Mall (an outside mall that is really nice with good stores) to get to the the Jaffa Gate, so you can do a bit of window shopping on the way there.
I thought the hotel was great, good value, great location. I'd stay there again.
Check out P2 if you go there, it's a really really good pizza place around the corner from Prima Royal. Probably the best pizza I've ever had (stone baked, really thin crust), it was that good!
