This is not Cordon Bleu. You don't need to mortgage anything to eat at Matilda. You need to be lucky enough to choose it.
The missus & I went in with precious little time to spare, a big thirst and a little appetite. The menu seems well rounded. We opted for the local version of kebab, French fries and draught Goldstar (for the uninitiated, this is a local dark lager).
Service was prompt and courteous, without fawning or cloying. The meat was moist and tasty with its tahini garnish; the fries were well done and done well, hot crisp, not oily. The lager was just great, not flat in any way, not watery, and not brain-freezing as some would have it.
The price we paid goes straight to 5 stars for value.
And yes, the A/C ducts over each table may seem to some to be a bit sci-fi, or somewhat clinical, but they allow the wide windows to be kept open and keep the guests dry and comfy!
