the elevator is small and most of time does not work and people wait in for the elevator and the service is rude when I waited in line they talked to the other people that came there before me minutes before they talked to me and after that they ignored me for acoupole minutes before talking to me.

Room Tip: most rooms on 12 floor don't have couches but most on 7 do

A huge hotel, so it's easy for one to feel lost and overlooked. However, our group had a pleasant last few days staying at Rimonim as it was central to completing our tour of Jerusalem and surrounding districts. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food a bit same-ish. Disappointed that no main dish provided for vegetarians/vegans. Room was clean and spacious with a panoramic view of the city, which I enjoyed. Corridors and stairwells seem a bit tired and worn-out from overuse...made worse because the three lifts in the hotel were so slow! Our group had a pleasant stay and I would recommend the hotel, however, I always think it's a shame that they allow smoking in hotels in Israel - even in bedrooms!!!

Room Tip: Rooms over dining area - great view!

Rooms were not ready till 15:00 so we went to wait by the pool, 45 minutes it took to bring fries with grilled chicken breasts and schnitzel, humus and tchina, the table was filthy and there was no cutlery available, 10 minutes later a waiter came in a slow pace speaking on his cell, his highness didn't understand that we were waiting for him to clean the table, before we can start eating and I went to bring the plastic cheapest version of cutlery that they provided, when we tried the food, the fries were soaked with oil and the meat was cold, there was no pittas but dry and oily looking baguette, I told the waiter to take the food away and started to pack up my kids and go outside to eat at a normal restaurant and told the waiter to call the manager, who showed up 2 min later, he apologized for it and begged for a second chance, I agreed, 20 min later the same plates of food came but the meat and fries were colder by now and we have eaten mainly the industrial taste humus and fresh buns, but hey we got a 20% discount equals to 4 euros for the shitiest meal I have had in Israel, it was too late to go out and the kids were starving, and I don't blame the manager but myself for giving him the second chance, never again I will eat at this hotel.

Rooms were unclean, hot and very very worn. We requested a new room after we found ripped up furniture, unclean sheets and a very musky/smokey odor. The staff was very pleasant and offered to re-room us. Unfortunately the next room was the same. On the upside we were pleased to have convenient, free, on-sight parking; something we found "out of the ordinary" for Israel. Bottom-line, if you value a clean room, modern amenities and a palatable breakfast, this is not the hotel for you.

Favorite of tour groups. Decent hotel. The service was inconsistent for example not getting a straight answer on soccer broadcasts despite several queries. Buffet dinner was also inconsistent. The first night meats were terrible but the other nights were better. As usual the salad bar was outstanding. At least there was a water station.

The Shalom Hotel is almost situated on Jerusalem highest point. If you are lucky enough to get a room facing eastwards you will be rewarded with an amazing sight of Jerusalem skyline, as far as the Old City itself.
Rooms are large and comfortable, even the furniture is a bit outdated. Each room has a full height window wall to maximize the seeing experience.
The hotel has a large swimming pool open every day and large dining rooms. The lunch/dinner is pretty standard, so don't expect too much, being buffet means you can literally stuff yourself.
Reaching the hotel from the Old City is matters of 15-20 minutes in mid-heavy traffic, so it's really a good option for touring the town.
Elevators are the really bad point here. The hotel is large and offers only 4 elevators, 3 if you happen to be there during Shabbat (one will work in Shabbat mode, rendering it basically useless for a non Jew).
