This hotel was walking distance from my office and also to many number of good restaurants. I stayed in this place for 4 days.

Strangely the hotel staff is not familiar with restaurants near by and were not particularly helpful.

Parking was atrocious and the check-in was lackadaisical at best. Pricing was also not quite as expected. We found that the continental breakfast was extra. The decor was not particularly restful or homey. After being in transit for 36 hours this was the place we had reserved to catch up on some sleep before continuing our trip. The floor of the room was pebbled, and the room provided little privacy for showering or using the convenience. All in all, though, we had reservations to return in a few days for a further night at the hotel, we cancelled the reservation and chose to go to another hotel.

Note that the hotel was clean and was otherwise satisfactory, it just didn't seem to be a good choice.

If you need to be close to Assuta Hospital, or in this high-tech neighborhood near Raoul Wallenberg Street for work, as I did, the Leonardo Boutique is your best bet. It's on Habarzel Street, across the street from Assuta. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The decor - including in the rooms - was stylish and contemporary. I especially loved the great water pressure in the shower. That's always a bonus. Breakfasts were outstanding. There isn't much of a view, and I would have preferred free internet access, but those are relatively small quibbles. The Leonardo is a good hotel at a great value in northeast Tel Aviv.

I've been a guest at the hotel twice now. Initially, I chose the hotel because it is currently the only major hotel that is somewhat close to Azorim Technical park. Once I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the neighborhood is very nice, with lots of restaurants and shops close by. The decor is stunning, especially in the bedrooms. All the staff could not be nicer, from the front desk, to the restaurant to housekeeping. So why only "Very Good" and not "Outstanding"?

1) No free Internet access. Even in the common areas (lobby, 9th floor bar), one has to pay. For Business travelers at least I would expect a moderately priced option, preferably included in the price of the room.
2) The bedrooms are not always consistently cleaned. Yes, the major items like the toilet bowl and the coffee cups are cleaned everyday. Used towels are removed. However, on many occasions no replacement towels, sugar, coffee are left in the room. The last time, they took the "Do Not DIsturb" sign from the room and did not give it back. Water left in the tea kettle from the last occupant.
3) The daily news articles were usually left *outside* the room door. Only twice was it slipped under the door. A little thing, but slightly irritating.
4) Basically, do not expect food inside the hotel if you arrive on Shabats. Not that I expected a huge meal, but what they were able to provide seemed like an afterthought. True, there are excellent and inexpensive eating establishments within 2 minutes walk from hotel, literally. But as a tired business traveler, it would be better if one did not *have* to leave the hotel to find a decent meal.

As you can see, these are not huge drawbacks. It certainly is not sufficient for me to refuse to stay with them again. But it would not be honest to say that the Leonardo Tel Aviv is "Outstanding" with these shortcomings. Items 2,3,4 are basically nothing more than attention to detail. Yes - in the case of food service, it only means pre-arranging food before Shabats (like mama would do at home). It is a safe assumption that new guests who arrive on Shabats will probably want to eat, so plan to have something simple but tasty to offer them. Or perhaps make a deal with one of the restaurants in the area to deliver something on Shabats. The Leonardo is supposed to be an upscale hotel, so, for a fee, offer this extra service. As for item 1, Internet access, work a deal with the service provider and offer this as an option included in the price of the room. Obviously no service can be totally free. But it also does not have to be so expensive either.

As for the noise situation - I do not fault the hotel for this. How can one? The Leonardo cannot control that buildings are being made outside. Instead, I choose to use the building noise like an alarm clock. :0) Besides, at some point the building will be finished and that issue will go away by itself. Note: There is very good sound proofing between the rooms. The noise is exterior to the building.

To finish on a positive note, it must be said that the restaurant in the hotel is incredibly good. Shabats notwithstanding, the food is Michelin star quality and very reasonably priced. It is the only hotel restaurant I have ever encountered so far that makes me want to stay in the hotel to eat. The restaurant alone is almost reason enough to stay in the hotel. Complimenti to the chefs!!

Also, another positive is that taxis are always available right outside the front door, every day. Even on Shabats. They are typically very helpful, too, which was another unexpected and pleasant surprise.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the building construction.
