“A real gem of a hotel”
Reviewed 27 November 2011

Stayed at Shalom twice during my visit to Israel – five nights in a standard room and three nights in a Jacuzzi suite on leaving the country. Shalom is a real find, and the best boutique hotel I’ve stayed in. It reminded me of a mini-Peninsula. Rooms are immaculate. The standard room is a tad small, but perfect; the Jacuzzi room is nothing short of stunning. The web site doesn’t do Shalom justice – amazing roof terrace, the best breakfast buffet ever, helpful, welcoming staff. I could go on.

What makes Shalom extra-special, though is the neighborhood. Away from the tourist traps further down Hayarkon, the beach and promenade across the street are terrific places to watch the sun go down on the Mediterranean. Café life, shopping on Dizengoff and Ben Yehuda both just a block o so away. Got a flavor for the real Tel Aviv. Can’t wait to come back.

Perfect stay.
Breakfast is incredible, free nibbles and drinks in the afternon is a very welcome thing!
If you need to leave the hotel, it´s in a good location, close to beach, restaurants etc.
Quiet, WIFI, very nice lobby for relaxing/working/enjoying a free tea.

Staying in the Shalom Hotel & Relax was a pleasure. It was clean, quaint, friendly and centrally located. The fount desk staff were ALL the best, I can not say enough about how much they made my 1st trip to Isreal a great on. They assisted with both touring and evening reservations; resteraunt ideas and much more. The hotel has a lovely rooftop for relaxing, the sunset view over the Med Sea is breathtaking. The morning breakfast buffet was spectactular with fresh breads, salads, coffees and eggs. The bed and lines were so comfy, I slept great every night. The Shalom is just across the street from the beach and park. Walking to shops of all types is easy and fun. I preferred to walk but betting a taxi or bus is also very convenient. I would highly recommend the Shalom to anyone visiting Tel Aviv.

Room Tip: If you are sensitive to noise you may want to request a room in the back of the hotel, but beware th...

Spent the weekend with my wife to celebrate her birthday.
We stayed at the lareger room which includes a hot tub.
The room itself is not too spacious but certainly enough for a couple.
The decore is charming! Every details is taken care of, from the cookies and wine in the room to the beautiful roof terrace.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious and the room was equiped with free WiFi.
The location is fairly central and within walking distance of many good restaurants. We had dinner at Rafael which is highly recommended.
One shortcoming is parking - not too near and relatively expensive. We ended up leaving the car in the parking for the weekend and used taxi's which are always available and affordable.

Shalom Hotel & Relax is like the TV show "Cheers" theme song. Everybody knows your name. After the first morning no-body asked my name or room number for breakfast or reception matters. Special mention to Mariana in the breakfast service who knew my coffee order from the 2nd morning onward. The staff is friendly and super-helpful for any and all inquiries. The room (cheapest class) was small, but well appointed, in good condition and with all the amenities that business travelers could require. There is a large TV, which doubles as computer. Wi-fi internet access is fast, reliable and FREE so business travelers can keep in contact. Breakfast is a good Israeli standard (if you're not Jewish, forget about meats on the buffet) and the service is excellent. A very nice extra is the snacks and drinks that are offered on the house in the evenings. If you're not in the mood for a big night out, staying in and having a snack and drink is a very good option. The hotel is located across the road from the Hilton hotel in very good position. Location is good and for the significant trade-off in price I would recommend staying in the Shalom Hotel over its more expensive and illustrious neighbor.

Tel Aviv Shalom and Relax Hotel situated close to the sea front is a fine hotel my review is higher than it would be if they did not have such great staff. The team in this Hotel really go out of their way to assist you, so full marks go to them.
The hotel its self is recently refurbished so is in generaly good condition, in my personal opinion the fees the hotel charge are on the hgh side as the rooms are very small.
We arrived in the middle of the night and I have to say I was shocked at the size of the room ( ie how small it was ) the warderobes are not big enough for your clothes ( we were there for a week on business, ) and we had to leave things in our cases.
All in all Great Staff, nice comfortable hotel in terms of lounge areas, price per night too high in my opinion ( there are comparable priced hotels on the sea front with sea views etc ).
Easy location for access to sea front and Marina

Room Tip: Try to get a room at the front of the hotel, the rooms at the back are overlooked by others living r...
