I've stayed in this hotel 3 times now, for about a week at a time.

I've always been reasonably happy with everything -- the rooms are decent, I've always been high up enough to avoid noise from the nightclub downstairs and mosque across the street.

The food is good, and the bar is also quite good, with knowledgeable staff who will be able to improvise with drink orders, very good there.

Breakfast buffet is very wide spread, with lots of variations of breads, dairy, some western favourites etc. (the hotel is Kosher, and they do very well, a westerner might not even notice unless they really wanted to mix).

The only reason it gets an 'average' is that it's vastly overpriced. The rooms and facilities are about on a par with a lot of Marriotts I've stayed in. Extras such as internet were astronomical (25USD for 24 hours of internet access), and it seems like anything out of the ordinary came with an extra charge.

Knock 100USD a night off the room charge, stop gougeing on every little extra, and you have a very habitable hotel in a nice location.

Hi gerrowadat, and thanks for your review. We're really happy to hear that overall you've enjoyed your stays in the hotel, and of course we love that you have been satisfied enough to come back time after time!

We realize that the internet prices can seem expensive compared to other countries, however we have found that it is averagely priced for hotels in Tel Aviv. We are monitoring our internet services on a constant basis, and would like to assure you and of course all of our guests, that if we are able to improve our internet services in any way, we will of course do so.

We hope to see you again shortly in the David InterContinental Tel Aviv!

Moved to the Intercontinental from the American Colony in Jerusalem and was happy I moved. We were upgraded to the Club Floor and had access to the Club Lounge. The Lounge and Lobby/Restaurant have recently been renovated. The room was nice, but a little tired. The Fitness Gym and spa were not particularly special, but I was able to get a good work out. Intercontinental lacks the "anticipation of customer needs" that Hyatt does so well. The buffet breakfast was great but service lacking.....I had to repeatedly fill my own coffee cup.

Hi Ted C, thanks for your review of the hotel. We're happy to hear that you had a good time overall on your stay.

We are sorry to hear that you didn't receive the service which you had expected while you were staying with us in the breakfast area. We do try to cater for all our guests and aim to provide for all their needs. We do hope that you enjoyed the rest of the breakfast, and your stay overall, and that we'll see you again soon in our hotel!

I stayed in the hotel for several nights on my trip to Tel Aviv. The hotel is very famous in Israel, but does not live up to its expectations. For a five star hotel, the rooms are pretty ordinary and dated. The bathroom, however, is much better. The way this hotel is built, almost all the rooms have a partial sea view. The staff, however, is the one of the most ineffecient and impolite that I have seen in any of the hotels that I have stayed in. One of the staffs at the front desk, Javier, was in particular outright rude to several people at different times who checked into the hotel. The breakfast is good and the wait staff there was far better. Overall, I would need a very compelling reason to stay again at this hotel.

This hotel is great in terms of location - it's central to all the neighborhoods you'd want to explore in Tel Aviv (where you can walk to each neighborhood, including Jaffa). The hotel is clean, huge, nice, and self sufficient. The rooms and bathroom are very comfortable, offering comfy beds and good showers/amenities. They offer 24/7 room service, which is key after a long flight in. We got a room facing the ocean, which was just gorgeous. They offer non-smoking rooms (which is key in smokey Israel), which was great for us. The staff was friendly and helped out with cabs on Sabbath (which is fine in Tel Aviv) and general recommendations.

With no restaurants open this is not a five star facility

No restaurants open during our visit. Saturday night food available only in the lobby (Atrium) featuring dairy only menu and uncomfortable low at coffee table height cocktail tables. On Sunday night the "Aubergine" restaurant was closed for private function, so again no restaurants open to public.

8+ children running wild in the lobby spraying guests with disinfectant used by waitstaff to clean polished tabletop surfaces. Staff said management would not intervene because the children were from a group of families (Georgian Republic) who were spending major money on a weekend of parties.

One drinking facility, the "Inca Bar". Visualize a 1970s Lagos three-star bar scene. Spare (no decor), dark brown leather? club chairs. Go if you are looking to make a connection.

Not close to restaurants or shopping.

Pluses: Entire staff very nice. Rooms clean and comfortable

Dear wrantar – Thank you for taking the time to comment on the David InterContinental Tel Aviv subsequent to your trip. I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay at the hotel, and I would like to express my sincere regret that this was the case. We make every effort to ensure the highest standards for our guests, and so your feedback is invaluable to us.

The weekends are very different in the hotel, as you noted in your review, due to restrictions because of the Sabbath. I'm sorry to hear that you felt that the food available was not up to standard, although we do pride ourselves on our proximity to Neve Tzedek and the Tachana, all of which have lovely restaurant and shopping facilities – I do hope that next time you visit us you will enjoy these beautiful areas, we would of course be happy to recommend the best to you!

I am happy to hear that you found the staff helpful, and enjoyed your rooms – I do hope that you will stay at the David InterContinental Tel Aviv again in the future.
