“Nice location”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

we (3 adults) stayed in this hotel (not for the first time) the last week of april to first of may. I'm not sure how old this hotel is (15?) but it needs some renovations! If you look e.g. up the ceiling when sitting on the sofas close to the 8 story high windows, you will see that the color of the ceiling is crumbling down. The rooms are also worn-out, the doors of the bathrooms are bloated from the humidity. And more. This is not what somebody expects when staying in a 5 star hotel.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is also ok. Nice Pool with nice view. Very close to the beach and to Jaffo. And also in this hotel the internet should be free of charge!

Room Tip: try to have a room on higher floors and view direction Tel-Aviv. We had a room floor 6 and had the n...

Do you sometimes also have the feeling - after a long and stressy (hot) day at work or travel or touring- just to "close the drapes and door" of your hotel, decide to cocoon for a little while and not feel as if the walls are getting closer - but just relax and feel very comfortable and at ease?
Well this is SO easy to do in this hotel….
The hotel is centrally located - near the beach near the old city all at walking distant.
Huge (impressive) lobby - friendly front desk staff….
The rooms are just great: rather spicy/clean/comfortable - everything works (quiet air-conditioning that works)/great bathroom.. I sincerely mean when I say; great place to cocoon.
I spent the day in my room watching movies, reading and relaxing. Room service was okay too (not an 'eater' so cannot tell you more about the restaurants). So YES YES YES!

Couldn't wait to return to this excellently managed and comfortable hotel. The staff are charming, helpful, efficient all with a smile and nothing is too much trouble. All designed to make the stay a memorable and pleasurable experience. Very comfortable room with sea view terrace and excellent housekeeping. Extremely efficient checking in and out AND the bill was correct! Returning in August and October. A MUST STAY hotel

We stayed at the Intercontinental Tel Aviv over Passover, and we really had a fantastic holiday experience.

We had a room with a Balcony, and it was really fantastic, as we were able to enjoy watching one of the best sunsets in the world, every night in own own outdoor space. The rooms are very nice, with a very large and clean bathroom.

One of the best parts of the experience is the massive choice at breakfast. The pool area is also large and clean, with plenty of space for everyone and lots of sun lounges to choose from. The location of the hotel is also very good, being minutes walk away from the gorgeous are of Neve Tzedek, the old railway station (Hatachana), south Rothschild and the markets around Allenby and trendy Sheinkin. Oh, and the beach is just across the road.

The staff and service at the hotel if first rate, and overall we were very happy with the whole experience. Highly Recommended

Room Tip: Room with a Balcony

We stayed at the David Intercontinental for 5 nights in April and had a wonderful experience. Our daughter ended up meeting us and spending a few days unexpectedly and they had no problem finding a room that would accommodate us. The location was central and convenient to everything in Tel Aviv. The concierge, Moshe, was great. He hooked us up with a great day tour and all of his recommendations were spot on. The breakfast was beyond amazing. We were there over Passover and they brought several treats to our room as well as a beautiful African violet in a ceramic pot. Raves all the way!

An Executive Club room in this hotel is a must, as is a sea view. The majority of the rooms do NOT have balconies, which can be somewhat claustrophobic. Our club room was becoming tired and housekeeping managers need to be kept on their toes....

That said, the staff, led by helpful and sympathetic managers like Dana for whom nothing was too much trouble, always went above and beyond to rectify immediately anything untoward.

The breakfasts are legendary and generous, but they need to get in a stock of strong tea for their English clients (the same tea bags they offer in the room would be nice).

The Aubergine Restaurant deserves praise. Quality kosher food, elegantly and expertly prepared and served by a dedicated knowledgable team.

For the sun starved european clients, the pool opening hours need reviewing. On a plot with so little outside space, shutting the entire pool area at 6pm is just not acceptable behaviour for a 5 star hotel, especially when it carries the Intercontinental franchise.

We will be back - and soon.

Our stay was short (just 5 days). We hope to stay longer next time.

Room Tip: Try to get a balcony or terrace.

Upscale 5-star hotel on the beach in south part of Tel Aviv. Meeting facilities and food were great. But, basic level rooms are small and furnishings were worn and a bit dated. The room rates are fairly expensive, and unless you buy an executive room, internet is extra ($15.00 a day). Bathroom is well-equipped and roomy. Fitness room was okay. I have stayed at many 3-star and 4-star hotels that had nicer rooms and nicer fitness center. But, the best part of the stay is the breakfast. Also, the doorman could use some lessons in service --- when my taxi drove up, the doorman just sat still reading something. Not what I would expect from a 5-star experience.

Room Tip: No idea how to get a nice room here unless you pay for the suite or something like that.
