“Best hotel in two weeks of traveling in Israel.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2013

We were lucky to receive an upgrade to a beautiful suite on the 12th floor. Newly remodeled the hotel is beautiful inside. The room was gorgeous with balconies overlooking the marina and the sea. The service was always gracious and helpful. The breakfast, while not the largest selection we have experienced, was fresh and beautifully presented, complete with a wonderful selection of freshly baked bread and eggs made to order.
We were here to lead a congregational tour and then enjoy a few days with family. All in all a great place to relax.

The hotel is nicely situated on the beach. The rooms are modern
and have a small terrace. The staff was excellent and the buffet breakfast
outside is greatt with fresh juices and omelletes. Would recommend to stay
there.

We had a great stay over a 5 day period. There was a large group of us staying from around the world for a family function. The service was beyond expectation...the rooms were spacious and modern. Some of our friends and family had sea view rooms. There was a wide selection of breakfast every morning in a separate building overlooking the marina which was an amazing way to start the day. When we asked the staff desk for help or room service no question was too hard and everything requested was done swiftly. Also the location of the hotel is perfectly situated on the tel aviv beach front in the heart of all the activity with bars, restaurants and cafes...but without the noise. Also we enjoyed a night stroll after dinner on the beach front most evenings. The hotel is a 5 min walk to Ben Yehuda street. Overall we had a great stay in the hotel and would certainly visit again when travelling to Tel Aviv.

This hotel, sandwiched between the Hilton Hotel and the Marina, is on the beach front, next door to the Marina. The highlight of the hotel is the breakfast room, separate from the hotel and overlooking the marina (only open in the summer months). You have never experienced such a breakfast! There is everything you can think of – fish, cheese, eggs (any style and cooked to order), bread, rolls, pastries, cakes, fruit in every shape and form, cereals - and for the Russians, iced vodka, salmon roe and the trimmings. You can sit outdoors, overlooking the marina and the deep blue Mediterranean, and eat to your heart's content.

Room Tip: ask for a room overlooking the sea, the rooms overlooking the fast road and the houses opposite are...

Perfect location right on the Beach with a great boardwalk and short distance from a bustling wharf. Close to everything. Rooms were comfortable and modern and we had a great view overlooking ocean. Quality complimentary toiletries. I saw some reviews saying that the rooms needed redecorating, but ours was very new and modern. We traveled as a family of 5 (3 kids ages 10, 14, 16) and had two comfortable rooms with a common door. We liked this feature very much as it made it easy to communicate and check on the kids. The staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was complimentary offering a full buffet spread. I would say it was one of the Best I ever had. If you like Mediterranean food, the choice and quality were excellent and the buffet was located in an outdoor freestanding building a level above the boardwalk with both indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the sea! I think wifi was an additional charge and I think for the price of the hotel it should be complimentary but I recommend anyone traveling from abroad rent a Mifi - best decision for the trip and I will never again travel abroad without one, especially with my family. We had up to 5 devices at a time to use unlimited wifi for less than $7 US a day. A no brainer. No need to pay for slower wifi with the hotel. Contact NESmobile, they are Awesome. Last but not least, I highly recommend the restaurant called Shila (182 Ben Yehuda Street) three short blocks away.

Tel Aviv is just too expensive and hotels have mastered the art of ripping the public off. The Carlton is reasonably priced in comparison to the nearby Hilton and the other 5 star properties located on the beachfront. The location of the Carlton is great and the newly opened roof top pool is awesome. Two major complaints: firstly it is sheer madness that a 5 star hotel charges extra for wireless and use of the gym; secondly the bedrooms are dated and need a proper renovation.

Dear Pietergel,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at the Carlton Tel Aviv. As mentioned in previous reviews, there is no star rating system for hotels in Israel and we at the Carlton do not make any claims in this regard. Your comments regarding the extra charges have been noted, but as have been explained previously these are standard practice and in many cases significantly lower than in surrounding properties. We were surprised that you found the rooms to be dated since we have just completed a major renovation project in which each guest room has been completely renovated. We hope that on your next visit to Israel you will give us the opportunity of hosting you once again and that you will enjoy your stay with us.

Whilst not living up to the 5 stars as they claim, I was overall impressed with this hotel.

Was very impressed with the breakfast - one of the best ive had in israel. The new breakfast area is a big plus.

The pool is a lovely area, with great panormamic views - if a bit small. The sauna/steam room is nice too but costs 5 $ which is ridiculous.

The room (royal executive) was tastefully decorated but on the small size. Insist on a sea view - really lovely.

Choice of food in the executive lounge is limited but the service is exceptional.

All in all a good option on the beach of tel aviv.

Dear Elliot1984,

Thank you for your review and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. It is important to note that there is no star rating for hotels in Israel and the Carlton Tel Aviv makes no claims in this regard. Your comments regarding the charges for use of the sauna/steam room have been passed on to our management team, but are standard practice in many hotels in the surrounding area. We were somewhat surprised to learn that you found your room to be small since our rooms are amongst the largest of Tel Aviv hotels. We hope that you will give us the opportunity of welcoming you to the hotel once again in the future.
