“Funky boutique. Small rooms. Smaller breakfast. Central location.”
Reviewed 9 July 2012

I say average because you don't get a great deal here. Then again, its probably one of the cheaper stays in Tel Aviv. The city is not the cheapest place for a tourist, though may be slightly cheaper than Jerusalem.

The hotel is well presented - its an old cinema building. It is funky and it is a small boutique, so judged by that standard its very good. The rooms are small. The bathroom is small. So for a couple of days, if you just need a place to crash, as opposed to a resort hotel where you can hang out, then this place is fine.

Don't expect a great deal at the breakfast room. Its very basic. Good produce, but basic.

Service was average-good. Nothing spectacular, but not terrible. The location is pretty central.

Overall: For just a decent hotel room to crash at the cheaper end of the market, and you dig the boutique feel, then its great. If you're expecting a grand hotel, then try somewhere else.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for you candid feedback regarding your stay at the hotel. We value guest opinions very much and use comments to look at ways we can improve the guest experience. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the theme and design style of the hotel as well as our location. As we are a boutique hotel our overall structure and style is different to that of a larger hotel. Although you were not pleased with this aspect we do hope you enjoyed the free Wi Fi, free happy hour with wine and snacks along with our sauna, Jacuzzi and open terrace which are available to all guests at no extra charge. We are upset to hear that you felt our service was only average and not great. It is our top priority to provide the friendliest and most helpful service, thus if we were unable to express this to you we hope that on your next visit we will be able to show you how committed we are to guest comfort and assistance. Thank you for choosing the Cinema Hotel and we hope to see you back here soon.

Besides the great facade and chic staircase, the hotel is a great disappointment. In particular, the rooms are very shabby and small. Compared to other hotels in Tel Aviv, the price of more than 200 dollars a night is too expensive. After the first night we moved out, although we wanted to stay there for a week and changed to the Diagilev. There our room was stylish and three times the size and cost less. However, the Sevice at the cinema was very friendly, otherwise I would give the hotel the worst grade.

This hotel is cetnrally located. It was easy to walk to the areas that were of interest to us, the market, shopping centers and bus stop, and to the beach. The breaskfast buffett had much variety, including fish. Everything was fresh and tastefully displayed. We had a little balcony, which was very pleasant for us. I highly recommend this hotel, if you have a busy schedule and would like to have a convenient and centrally located place to stay.

The public areas were unique & quite nice: a vintage Bauhaus building with old cinema-related equipment on display. Breakfast was very good. Room was a bit shabby for the price. Hotel staff were responsive but not particularly welcoming or friendly. Parking lot was welcome; it was small but we were able to fit, at an off-peak time, which was very important for us.

Staying here in June 2012. a classic bauhaus architecture cinema turned into a boutique hotel. Very centrally located to all the shops and restaurants and even a 24 laundry place. The room is a nice size. Not too big, not too small. Wall is think so, I can hear the neighbours talking and watching TV. The hotel should provide earplugs. The receptionist can arrange and book organized tour for you. The breakfast is plenty with a wide selection of bread. But the breakfast room is too tiny to accommodate all the guests. The Sun deck roof terrace on the 4th floor is definitely the best feature of the hotel. It has the Business Center, Sauna, Jacuzzi and just chairs to sit outside and even sun-tanning. What's missing is the swimming pool. The hotel offers free wine, champagne and things to nibble during Aperitive time from 17.00 to 19.00 everyday on the terrace. Again, not enough chairs to accommodate every hotel guests there. Too bad! Overall, I had a good stay!

I was planning to spend few days in this highly rated and well located hotel, but ended up leaving after my first night. I hated the place or better said its rooms. I have seen two, but both were very similar - extremely small, dark (main color in the room is black everywhere and minimal natural light) and very smelly. I couldn't sleep because of the mold smell. And I could open the window as it leads to the shared balcony, so I was afraid to keep it open in the night. Hotel location is good if you want to go out or shipping, but I prefer to be closer to beautiful beach! And there are many options by the beach! Hotel building itself is interesting from artistic and architectural point of view, but I need more from the hotel I stay.

Room Tip: Ask for the room with balcony or street view as there are few with extremely small ventilation windo...

As it was the first time I stayed in central Tel Aviv my choice was made through a friend's recommendation. The Atlas website is very alluring but as I've been caught badly by hotel websites, I was sceptical. The actual experience turned out to be almost everything I wanted in an hotel for a seven day/night stay. The staff, at every level, were exceedingly helpful and friendly. I asked for extra hangers, they were there in minutes; I asked for a real hairdryer (as I find the standard bathroom fixture useless), they sent up a brand new one still in it's box, My room was spacious, sufficient closet space and good lighting, which is one of the things that I find inadequate in most hotels. Whoever plans their rooms has thought about most things that a traveller would require. The bathroom is small but I found it adequate. However, I would have liked more shelf space or surfaces to put toiletries on. A couple of shelves under the sink would have done the trick, especially for a couple.
The location is superb. I walked almost everywhere from the hotel. Ten minutes to the beach, about 20 minutes to the market and Bauhaus area; buses nearby. An assortment of stores, banks, amenities on the doorstep. Two great restaurants, one on the corner, where I ate most of the time.
The breakfast buffet, with some daily changes, is fresh, has eye appeal and nothing seems too much trouble for the food staff. After two days of asking for my green tea bag to be in a pot of boiling water, as I walked in the young man serving would announce that he was bringing my tea.
I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: higher floors have better views.
