This is my third 5 star hotel stay in Tel Aviv, the previous two being the neighboring Carlton and the Sheraton. Upon my arrival I was informed that I had been upgraded to an Executive room, which I thought was nice since I was spending 6 nights in Tel Aviv. The room was spacious, clean and had a comfortable bed. Breakfast as with most hotels in this category is diverse and well prepared.
The only reason I just can't give it a maximum rating is the horrendous wi-fi Internet connection, in terms of performance and price. I paid 650ILS (185USD)!!! for a 6 day wi-fi subscription. Expensive and of very poor quality. This may not matter to people who are on vacation, but I was there for business and it really hampered my ability to do things. For that money I get unlimited 100Mbps for more than a year back home.
What amazes me is that a lot of hotels in this category do not treat the Internet as something quintessential for their customers. I feel like I am being robbed and this is the single reason for which I will try to avoid the Herods next time I am in Tel Aviv.More
