“Wonderful local art fair”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

If in Tel Aviv on a Tuesday or Friday, this fair is not to be missed. I come here every time I visit Israel. The artists are friendly & very talented. The variety of crafts is amazing. It is a great place to buy gifts. The general atmosphere is lively & colorful. There are some fun places to eat in the area & it's proximity to the Carmel Market make it a must see. Can't wait to go back.

“A very local experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 June 2014

If you are in Tel Aviv on Tuesday or Friday, you should plan the day partly on being at this Pedestrian Mall for the local arts/crafts -- in fact, combine the day with a walk through the adjacent Carmel Market, and perhaps along Shenkin Street which continues from one end of the Pedestrian Mall. This trio of streets/markets is very representative of part of Tel-Aviv life, each in its own way; and I don't agree with reviewers who have said that it's nice to visit if you are in the area -- I would definitely plan the visit, and plan to see all three areas.
As for the Pedestrian Mall and local arts/crafts -- this is really the best place to buy momentos, and gifts for people, especially to take outside of Israel, because they are unique. There is a lot of Judaica, but often with an interesting twist (things that you won't find, for example, in the much more conservative Jerusalem); there are also original art works, a lot of ceramics, and any number of other kinds of things. Over the years I have chosen several items that are favorites in my home: a statue of a traditionally-dressed Ethiopian man holding a baby; a paper-mache figurine who looks like a resident of Tel Aviv; a deep-red ceramic pot which I have used to hold a favorite plant; several framed photographs of traditional neighborhoods from Tel Aviv and Jaffa; and a stone mezuza. In short, there is a lot to choose from, and you won't find this kind of creativity or variety elsewhere in Israel. As for the price -- the items are not cheap, but I like to support the artists, and prefer to decorate my home or give gifts that did not come from a factory.

“Fun place to explore”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2014

If you find yourself strolling the Neve Tzedek neighborhood on a Tuesday or Friday afternoon, it is definitely worth exploring Nachlat Binyamin. The array of local artists selling their handmade wares is a real treat. It is also located next to the local shuk, another fun place to wander!

“Not to be missed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2014

Nachalat Binyamin is a very good craft market, terrific jewellery, children's puzzles, pottery, glass. All good quality and reasonably priced. Plenty of coffee/food outlets so you can have a rest and watch the world go by. Good street musicians play regularly. Classical trio at the far end are always good. If you have the time walk five minutes to the Carmel Market - food and clothing.
