“Convenient shopping mall, not an attraction”
Review of Azrieli Center

Azrieli Center
Reviewed 20 June 2014

For locals and travelers alike, the Azrieli mall is convenient, though it has its drawbacks. As previous reviewers have noted, it has obvious benefits: it houses both international clothing chains and local chains and boutiques, so if you need to buy pretty much anything conceivable, you should find it at Azrieli (though obviously at higher prices than in the US). It is easy to get to, being on the main highway through Tel Aviv and above one of the main train stations, and only a short taxi ride or even walk from the central part of Tel Aviv. It also has very good climate control, important for hot/muggy days (this has also been noted by others, and important to keep in mind if you're visiting and just need a few hours of reliable air conditioning without retreating to a hotel room). It is not as snazzy (or expensive) as the Ramat Aviv mall in northern Tel Aviv, and it's a bit more spacious and modern than Dizengoff Center in the heart of Tel Aviv.
On the downside however: the mall can get crowded, even claustrophobic, as civilians and soldiers pile in during summer afternoons or Fridays -- also looking for an escape from the heat, and a place to pass time before heading to the train station. Also, the food courts -- while diverse -- are not very pleasant to sit at (they can be loud, and messy); and there are not many proper restaurants in the mall, most being just fast food. Finally, the bathrooms are not always well-maintained -- they are small and cramped. Given the size of the mall, and the tower complex in general, I don't understand why they skimped on the bathrooms (and the food court eating areas). There just isn't enough comfortable public space...

This is a three level shopping mall located in the business area of Tel Aviv. It has a number of Israeli chain stores and foreign chains. For those who like to shop, this is for you. One interesting side trip is to the Azrieli Observatory accessible from the third floor of the mall. This is on the top floor of the Azrieli Center and offers a panoramic view of Tel Aviv. Great photo ops for those of us who like to take a lot of pictures but no guides, explanations or other devices to explain what you are looking at. Fee for the observatory, not for the mall.

The Azrieli mall is famous mainly due to the fact that it is located within one of the tall Azrieli building (there are three buildings in different shapes).
There's nothing unique about this mall - it's an ordinary mall with brand name shops, fast food eateries and the Shalom train station that connects it to other parts of Tel Aviv.

The only reason to come here is if your luggage got lost and you need to do some serious big brand shopping - Zara, Mango, Gap, H&M, Forever 21, etc and some local chains are here....in short a typical mall like the ones back home
