Well, this was definitely an interesting place. We stayed here for the last couple of nights before flying out after a three week trip around Israel, West Bank, Petra. The rooms of this hotel are located in two buildings, with check-in located in a third. They are all next to each other, but I made the mistake of making the long sweaty climb to the top of the first building lugging a 50 lbs bag… only to find that I was in the wrong building. Stairs might be an issue for some in one of the buildings. The other has an elevator once you get to the second floor. We stayed in an “economy” room the first night. Emphasis on economy. We slept fine, but one thing – make sure you have the floor squeegee nearby when you take a shower. We transferred to a “luxury” suite the next evening… and this was much better—very spacious with marvelous balcony views of Jaffa looking out to the sea. This is the room to rent. Tel Aviv was an interesting city, and we enjoyed exploring it, but we were so glad we stayed in the Jaffa section. We loved the old city, the markets, the busy crowded streets, the shops, the mess, the food. We also appreciated the suggestions and conversations with the two managers who checked us in and out—very helpful, very knowledgeable. Really, if we return to Tel Aviv, we’ll go for that suite again

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment. The location is convenient if you want to be in the old city, which we did.
They advertise this place as luxury, which is laughable. Things were falling apart, the lock on our door didn't work (they fixed it the next day, grudgingly) and the place was not very clean. You have to ask to have your rooms cleaned or have the garbage taken out, which we did, but they cleaned only once and we were there for three nights. The windows are high up, so we had no view at all. The apartment sleeps four, but the second bed is just an uncomfortable pull out couch in the kitchen/living room.

Room Tip: If you really want to stay in this place, pay for the higher priced rooms so you get one with a litt...

This is day 2 of our 4 night stay at this location. Best choice we have ever made for family stay in Tel Aviv. Do NOT expect the Waldorf Astoria. This is an old Jaffa building renovated into apartment units. It is in the heart of the Jaffa Flea Market, a block from the Clock and 2 blocks from Jaffa Port. We rented the 2 bedroom mini-suite. It has everything we need - a kitchenette, cooking utensils, a nice size refrigerator, TV's in every room (a must have for World Cup 2014 with two teenage boys), a WONDERFUL balcony with a spectacular view of Jaffa with a peak at the Mediterranean, 2 comfortable queen beds, and excellent air conditioning - and it is modern, clean and neat. The manager was friendly. There is a first flight of stairs, but an elevator after that. We lucked out and found parking in front of the building, but there is a public parking garage down the street. There is a nice market a few blocks away to stock up on food and drinks, and smaller fruit vendors and bakeries everywhere. There are also some of Jaffa's best rated restaurants just outside the door.

I note that some of the negative reviews here seem to be the result of the failure to read the instructions. Yes, this is energy conscious Israel. Turn the hot water heater on before taking a shower. No, the apartment is not cleaned everyday, They are up-front about it. You do have to clean up after yourself, but you can request a cleaning and extra towels.

The bottom line here is a wonderful accommodation that is in a wonderful location resulting in huge savings that I can now spend on something other than a hotel room during our vacation. You can leave your car and walk nearly everywhere, including the Tel Aviv Beaches and the Promenade.

We recently stayed at the Clock during a business trip to Tel Aviv, though it is an amazing location and the hotel very well located...The management have NO idea how to run a hotel...The manager, when informed in the evening that housekeeping had NOT cleaned my room he had the audacity to say "we are NOT obliged to clean your room" the AC was dripping water all night.
What they also forgot to mention was that there is NO room service, which ment NOT even a bottel of water, NO telephones in the rooms so if there is an emergency you are expected to walk down 2 flight of very steep stairs to the shabby "lobby" and all this for 100 Dollars a night.

Room Tip: go prepared....Great location...ignorant staff...and the service sucks !!!

First of all let me say thank you from upgrading us... Its always nice to get upgraded in a hotel.

BUT, that was it...

We got in the room finding leftovers of the cleaner everywhere- used capsules near the coffee machine, water spread in the toilet and Ect. this was not a problem for us, cleaned it by ourselfs and moved on... nothing happened...

The room was nice and huge BUT please don't call this a luxury!!

You can't put some nice furnishers in the room and call it "renovation" as all the room is old... And even if you renovate, you didn't finish renovating- see the pics!! Mold in the bathroom, unfinished electrical outlet and paintings and more and more...

Another thing- Check in/out times are really not fair- check in- 16:00?!?! check out 11:00?!
This is not even standard...

I can't say that its not a good value for money and we had a nice time in this hotel and we even kind of recommending it, but people must know that it's not a luxury hotel..

It's an apartment hotel, probably can be rated 3 stars- no more...

Anyways... Room #2 needs maintenance immediately, please be aware of this!!

Room Tip: suits #1, #2, 3#, 4# has not elevator so if you have a problem to carry your own bag by the stairs...

I've rented this place for my friend for one night. She had to wait for two hours before room was ready and manager was very rude to her. She had to bring her bag to the 4th floor as elevator was broken. Room was dirty, full of insects and lack of air. Balcony overlooked dirty street of old Jaffa and bunch of garbage on the roof of the nearest building. Strictly don't recommend this stay!!!

The best thing going for the Clock is its location. It is right around the corner from the clock tower square (as it's name implies) and Abouelafia, a 24/7 bakery that us usually packed. It sits right next to the flea market and across the street from Dr. Shakshuka, the great purveyor of Israel's national comfort food. Just up the road, past the mosque is Old Jaffa, the old city with its antiquities museum and pretty pink Catholic church. Just past the clock tower to the left is the Jaffa boardwalk to the redeveloped port and it's many seafood restaurants, while to the right is the beach and a very easy walk up Tel Aviv's beachfront to the old train station (now an upscale mall).

But the location alone doesn't make the place (Atlas Hotels is building a competitor across the street), but rather the level of cleanliness comfort and customer service (still somewhat unusual in Israel) that I did not expect from a converted apartment in a once downtrodden neighborhood.

While I wholeheartedly recommend the Clock, I note that I had to walk up several flights of stairs to get to my room. The ground floor is not accessible by elevator. This did not bother me, but if walking up stairs is a problem, I don't know if the place has available accommodations.
