“Meh. Not great, but close to the airport”
Reviewed 23 February 2014

Not an impressive hotel, but we just stayed here one night because we had a very early flight and it was the most affordable hotel near the airport. About a 10 minute drive to the beach at Tel Aviv. It does look like the hotel is doing some renovations, so maybe it will be better once those are complete.

Pros:
Location, proximity to the airport
The new rooms are nice and roomy.
The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Cons:
We felt really unsafe. There was no dead bolt on the door into the room and the door was a hallow door, not a security door. One good kick would have opened that door, locked or not.

Room Tip: Wait until the renovations are complete. Hopefully they will replace all the doors and door locks.

Good location in the center of Israel, good restaurant near the hotel, we enjoyed eating there lunch and dinner! The service in the hotel was very nice! The hotel was reasonably clean. Children welcome! The room was convenient and the bathroom was clean and renew. We had a parking place in the hotel with no extra money charged. Small lobby but modern designed. It's not 5 star hotel but the price was fair!
10 minutes driving from the airport, 15 minutes to Tel Aviv!
3 minutes walking from a nice mall.

bathroom had clean towels but did not appear to have been cleaned other wise. clean sheets on bet but nothing else had been cleaned recently (carpet unvacuumed, etc).

Service was good, location near Ben Gurion airport.

overall sketchy feel- I was with a group so felt safe but if I had been alone I would have been a little creeped out (as a young female).

If I had the choice between spending 100USD on a room at avia airport hotel and spending 100USD on booze and passing out on the streets of Tel Aviv, I’d choose the booze. Between the cockroaches, broken room door, outlets without covers, and the disgusting state of the bathrooms, this is one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. When we arrived we noticed something in the sink, it turned out to be ashes from whoever was in the room last who had ashed their cigarette in the sink. The night before we noticed disgusting stains on the tablecloths and standing water on the floor in the dining room area. The next morning for breakfast, it was still there. Nobody would ever willingly visit this place twice and it must survive off the ignorance of tourists.

P.S. Taxi drivers will try to recommend this to you for some reason. I think they’re getting kickbacks.

Room Tip: Don't go here!

We understood it had a makeover and was much improved, believed it had a pool, fitness centre, restaurant...but no - not even a hairdryer. I think our room had been 'made over'. New carpet, big TV and big bed - but dirty handprints on walls and paint used in the bath to cover worn enamel. Watered down soap in a dispenser was only on offer. Grubby lifts, grubbier windows. Parking not great. For one night only maybe as its near airport. Reception were friendly enough, but not professional in the least. They charged wrong card and overcharged us by charging twice for two days already paid upfront. Still waiting for refund. Be warned.

Unfortunately I have had the misfortune of staying in Avia twice with a year in between. The first time was not great - the second was a nightmare. I really wouldn't know where to start... Hotel - very dirty. Rooms - thilthy. Staff - diabolical. Food - dire. All in all a scary experience for a woman travelling by herself. I know it is near to the airport but it is not worth going there - Tel aviv is not too far. Personally I would rather stay in Gaza...
