This area of Jaffa is urban renewal at its best. Lots of tiny more pub than restaurant places serving happy locals at tables in the street in the perfect Tel Aviv spring weather. Akbar is one of the best, serving excellent chorizos, pizzas and other pub food, and the best pint of Guinness I've had outside of Ireland.
I had a raucous time there last weekend with my wife and her colleagues (paid for by her company, thanks) and went back today with my son after watching his favorite soccer team lose at the nearby stadium.
Guinness and sausages for me and Jahnun (a Yemenite savory pastry, only on Saturdays) and Coke for him made a disappointing day all better.
