“Decent hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 February 2013

This hotel was a decent one included on my 9 day tour of Jordan.
The staff was pretty good, they were able to answer all of my questions.
The room itself was alright, a little bit shabby and in need of some upgrading, and re-decorating.
It wasn't the best hotel I've ever stayed in, but not the worst either.
There isn't much around the hotel itself to go and do or see, I would consider it a good stopover hotel and that's about it.

I found it difficult to rate this hotel. There was nothing wrong with it: the rooms were comfortable and clean and the bathroom was quite nice. It was located just a short walk away from shops and some small local restaurants. However, there was nothing really great about it either: the decor was a bit old and outdated and the breakfast was pretty uninspiring with stale bread and a selection of various hot and cold dishes that didn't look very appetising. Overall it was a fine place to come back to each evening after a full day of sightseeing but not somewhere I would want to spend a long time at.

We stayed in this hotel on the first and last night in Amaan. Generally speaking it was of average standard. The room was clean and the hot water supply was adequate. It was a bit noisy as it was on the main road. The nearest shops will be about 20 minutes walk. Nothing special could be mentioned about breakfast but the last night we had fairly tasty food. The first night we stayed it was Christmas day and we were arranged to have the dinner in the restaurant of Regency Palace, the 5 stars hotel next door. The food was not as good. One could use the swimming pool and gym of Regency Palace. The swimming pool is on the top floor and has a good view of the city but the water was rather hot. I could only swam in it for 10 minutes. The service was obviously much better there than Grand Palace.

We stayed here for 3 days.Room was good and clean. The only problem what we faced here is vegetarian food even we requested while booking itself.Any how for one dinner the manager specially prepared Indian veg.dish for us,eventhough the taste is not that much good but i would like to appreciate his effort.Staffs are not that much friendly with guests.
The other problem is internet.Per hour they charged 5 jd.This is expensive. If u use the mini bar,you will be charged.Pl.keep it in mind. But they did not tell us before.

The hotel was overall good and clean.
I suggest to use it if you need an hotel for a couple of nights, not more.

ROOM
We asked for a no smoking room, but it smelt a lot - for sure someone smoked in it.
The room was clean and also the bathroom was not so bad. There was a bidet!!!
The street is quite annoying, so if you want to sleep, it's better to keep the windows closed.
The mini bar is very expensive and there is no tea or coffee in the room.

HOTEL AND OTHER SERVICES
People at the reception are very rude and not kind. You need to wait for them before to receive an answer.
The breakfast is continental, for me was good. The food was fresh and there was a good choice. I had no dinner there so I can't value this aspect.
In the afternoon I asked for a snack and I choose a 'club sandwich': very good and tasty and not very expensive. I liked it.
The propose the service of a Spa, but it's in the near hotel.
I have not seen the gym center.
It's a pity they have no sauna and Turkish bath or hammam.
You can have internet connection but it's really expensive: 5 dinars for 1 hour!

POSITION
Too far from Cittadella. You need a taxi to reach the center of the city.
It is quite isolated, even if you have to consider that the taxi are very cheap.

In the end, choose this hotel if you need an easy and clean accommodation, but if you need to stay more than 2 nights, I suggest to choose something else.

They never answer the phone in reception help is never readily available

I didn't choose this place myself, I was here during an organized tour in Jordan. In my opinion this was an ok hotel, I liked it at the end. It's rated 4 star and it matches the standard of the country, it was similar of the other hotel I stayed in during my tour. I appreciated the spaces, both my room and the bathroom were big. Some details could be renewed a bit, but nothing so basic to bother me. The bed was comfortable and the room full light, thanks to the huge window facing the street. Air conditioning, minibar, tv, safe box, carpet on the floor were there. I enjoyed my breakfast, there was a good choice of food and the quality was good. No free internet, I didn't like the fact that it was quite expensive. The position is nothing special, it's far from the center of Amman and there isn't anything interesting in the area around it, it faces a trafficked street. Be ready to move around by taxi.
