I did not enjoy this stay. Despite being tired, it was hard to sleep...I know the gentleman and his mistress next door also got very little sleep. Needless to say, there was a lot of prostitution going on, and I know this might be normal for the area, but they need to learn how to keep it low key for the rest of us who want no part of it. The rooms smelled of cigarette smoke. The lobby was very nice, but the rooms don't get the same treatment. Food was very good.

Room Tip: Find another hotel.

This is a decent business - budget hotel and should serve the purpose for a short 2-3 day trip. The location is good and easy to find taxis. Make sure you negotiate with the taxi driver. The breakfast and dinner was adequate. Breakfast had a wide variety though most of it was bland. The service overall was slow but they did what was needed to be done.

Room Tip: get a room on the higher floor

I agree that this is more like a 3 star hotel but only because it needs a bit of updating - it's looking a bit tired but our room was more than large enough with a very comfortable and large bed. It was clean and air conditioned and although we faced the road, we weren't disturbed at all. Location wise it is not very central and finding restaurants in the area was not easy though we did mange with the help of a very friendly local. We didn't eat in at all other than breakfast which was the usual buffet and was adequate. Coffee was very good. Smoking in the dining room and other public areas was a problem but we soon learned it's the same everywhere in Jordan despite it being banned. Taxis into town were about £5 so it was easy to get about but we walked from hotel to the Citadel and then on to Rainbow St. Only problem with hotel was that there is no outdoor terrace to sit on in the sunshine which was a shame.

Hotel is quite old! Location is good. Breakfast and dinner were average. But what really bothered us was the fact they charge 15 US dollars for a 24 hours internet usage, and once you log into one device you cannot log off and use the password in another device! Very disapointing

The hotel was booked on our behalf as part of a round tour of Jordan. While it was supposed to be 4 star it really did not deliver. It is miles from restaurants, ATM, airport and shopping. Staff at reception and dining seemed disinterested in providing a service. Reception was unable to provide a city map, WiFi is extra and breakfast food was always cold. The upside was that it has security on entering the property and the hotel lobby, so is safe.

We stayed one night at the Golden Tulip in Amman on a business trip having arrived from the UK around 1am in the morning. It was literally a bed for the night and breakfast before moving on.
The Hotel itself is quite modern with all the facilities you would need for a short stay.
The reception and check in facilities at that time in the morning are average to say the least. One person trying to check in about 4-5 persons, and the inevitable bureaucracy which tends to feature in the middle east.
It took about 45 minutes to check in, which at that time in the morning can be fraught with impatience.
Good nights sleep in a comfortable bed and a breakfast the next day was acceptable, well laid out, but the coffee was tepid.
This is an ideal stop over, being just iterally on the doorstep of the airport, but I wouldn't recommend it for a longer term occupancy or holiday.
Check out was efficient.

This place rates itself as a 4 star hotel, I would give it 2, maybe 3 stars. It’s a dated hotel in dire need of some updating. Our beds were worn out, the toilet seat was broken, and my blanket had patches sewn on, to cover the holes.

The view is nothing to write home to either. I faced a school, and behind it, was a half built building that appears to have been abandoned since.

Not much to do nearby, although you’re a close 15 min walk from some shopping in the city center. If you ask the reception for the directions to the shopping, they’ll try to convince you to stay and go to the gift market instead because the prices are “cheaper”.

One good thing I can say about this hotel is that it has access to its neighboring hotel’s amenities (a gym and pool – the gym is well equipped with fairly new LifeFitness equipment and weights; pool was closed during my stay)

I’ll rank the breakfast buffet an “average”, mainly due to its lack of variety (although bonus points for it’s delicious pastries), and dinner was bordering between breakfast and lunch in terms of taste (variety was quite limited).

Most of the staff employed at this hotel do not believe in “service with a smile.”

Toiletries provided: shampoo, and body wash.
