“Excellent service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2013

Yes, it's truly luxurious. Yes, it's enormous. Yes, the security is excellent. But what really made this an excellent stay for me was the service. I arrived late at night with a suitcase full of crushed clothes and an important meeting to attend the following morning. In many other hotels, getting a suit pressed in time for an 8:30 departure from the hotel would be impossible. But at Le Royal, my request didn't even raise an eyebrow. the suit was collected before I went to bed and reappeared at 7:30am. Terrific.

We were coming for international conference that held in this hotel, we didn't have much time to go out so we spent most of the 4 days at hotel and we enjoyed most of our time. Big hotel with nice lobby. The staffs really nice and friendly. Nice sitting area at the lobby. it has bussiness centre that open 24 hour, you can print all your job in the middle of night. it has ATM, small souvenir and daily need store inside so you don't have to go out if you can't. it provide tour service for the guest (despite the fact it offer 5 star service with mercedes car as your transport means (read : expensive)) with a lot of option for the place to go. The room is big, the bed comfortable. Every morning after the room was cleaning, you will get a chocolate bar beside your bed. The internet is free and fast. The bath room clean and big. The city view from the room is beautiful.

I have stayed in Le Royal less than a year ago, and wanted to share my opinion.
This is truly luxurious hotel, set in very busy intersection. First thing that surprised me was the
Walk-through metal detectors (like at the airport). Given the proximity to hot spots, it made sense..
I was very lucky that the evening I arrived as I was greeted by very professional, check in manager, Mr. Zeiad Momani. He was extremely kind and helpful with my demands for particular floor/ room/ view etc. If you are lucky enough to meet him, you will experience what I mean.
Again, I am seeing comments from unlucky guests, but I can assure you that, as always, and especially in hotel like this, just few kind words will get you top service.
I have encountered issue with AC and was immediately transferred to another room.
No big deal.
In the morning, the restaurant was literally packed with zillion options to eat and it was truly impressive. It was impossible to try everything on offer.

Restaurant Diwan Shahrayar was really impressive especially sitting on the balcony and enjoying the views of Amman. Food was delicious, a little bit on expensive side.
For sports fans, there is a fantastic Beerkeller sports bar in lobby area , on the left side from entrance. Loads of plasma screens to watch different games. For people who care about smoking, yes, you can smoke in there too.

Overall, my business trip was enhanced by staying in Le Royal, and I can recommend it highly.

Room Tip: If you prefer quiet sleep, ask for the inner court room. You will not get any view, but it will be q...

because the hotel is not excellent, although as many reviewers before me have pointed out it could be, but the weaknesses do not overpower the strengths.

I think overall, the hotel is nice, nicely furnished, the rooms in a traditionalish way, but who wants today's (really yesterday's) pseudo-minimalist interior fashion, outdated tomorrow? I had a cheap but spacious room, very nicely appointed, bathroom quite okay, good condiments - the only disadvantage of lower cheaper rooms is that, well, see room tips. :-) Excellent bed, excellent A/C.

The security at the entrance is annoying, but this is Jordan. At night, for non-locals, sashaying outside is not recommended; during the day, it's easily possible to walk to Rainbow Street. There is a small convenience story at the circle, 25 meters from the hotel (but you cannot cross the street at night, or you can, but then GOOD LUCK. :-) ) As has been mentioned many times, the hotel is an Amman landmark, easily located on the 3rd circle and visible from almost anywhere in the city.

Atmosphere and lobby are okay; I did not use the restaurants, but I had friendly, cheap and really excellent room service. The spa is partially nice; pools and whirlpools were good and allowed for lap swimming; the gym was barely okay and the spa staff not even that. The feeling was more like a public pool & gym. But lap swimming for me is the key, and that is often not possible; here it is.

As regards the bill, two hints: First, in this region, it's a usual deal even for good hotels to ask for too high a safety amount to be held on the credit card at check-in. At check-out, they then try to validate that and promise to later re-transfer the money that was paid in excess, which may happen late or, so one hears, not at all. Well, what one does is not consent to that: At checkout, ask for the cancellation of the safety amount and for a new charge of exactly what one is supposed to pay. They have to and will do that. It avoids unpleasantness later.

Second, from the hotel to the airport, the taxi system is fine and costs currently 22 Jordanian. For the way back, there may be ripoffs, but the hotel has a service that is excellent and reliable. For that, they try to charge 40 JOD, which is inadequate, but if pushed, they "see whether we have smaller cars available" (they have, and these are fine) for 25, which is certainly worth it.

I stayed at Le Royal for business. It was a very comfortable hotel and pleasurable. The restaurant at the GF is really good. The room is clean and convenient. It is not a deluxe hotel but very comfy. The breakfast is also delicious.

The hotel is very close to rainbow street where you have many nice restaurants. The view from the club floor is fantastic.
The staff members are really good apart from the hotel taxi driver demanded us for tips and upset that we didn't nominate him as the " staff of the month".
