Located close to Masjidil Haram. Value for money especially if you can't afford those hotels near the clock tower. Has to walk steep hill to get to Hotel. The room has all basic amenities. I have a view of the Clock from my room.

This hotel's closeness to the Masjid al haram is the only strong point.
You get what you pay for I guess.
There was no service to speak of so not anything to rate.
If you are just in this city for your religious duties then it will suffice, but nothing more.
Clean enough rooms.

Room Tip: Stay on the upper floors, you might get a chance of a view.

Stayed for 2 days in June 2012 and was satisfied. Five minutes walk to Haram (10 minutes to get inside), quick checkin, no elevator issues compared to many hotels in Mecca/Madina, convenience store in the reception, spacious room with Haram corner-view, AC in good condition.

Important things to note:
Tell the taxi to drop you at the Meridien as it is right next to it...I had a hard time finding the hotel, no one knew it. There is a steep slope on your way to Haram which would be very hard for elderly people. Some floors were not renovated like others. No food services.

Nawazi Ajyad is a good place to stay only if price and closeness to the Haram are your priority. The hotel is clean enough. Staff is helpful and rooms are comfortable enough. The main problem with the hotel is the elevator. There are three elevators in the hotel but they are certainly not enough in high season. I stayed in Nawazi during the last ten days of Ramadan and we had to stand in line to take the elevator, waited for more than 20 mns at times to get to my room. Another inconvenience is the uphill road that gets to the hotel. One needs to be really fit to be able to climb up that road, which is not well paved.
Apart from this, the hotel is very convenient to one of the main gates to the Haram, King Abdul Aziz, to the clock tower, and to the bus station.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the first two/three floors. If you're fit enough, you can take the stairs; if...

I booked this hotel last minute with my family and it was the second of two we chose for our time in Makkah as everything else had sold out.

A possible problem for anyone who is not very fit, elderly or with young children is that there is a short but very steep uphill road to take in order to get to the hotel. However, this is just off of the main road of the Haram, the closest gate being the main King Abdul Aziz Gate.

The room we were shown to was on the 8th floor, it was a very large quadruple room, so even though there were 4 single beds, there was still enough room for armchairs and side tables. The décor was a little dated and not very well finished but was clean. There was also a small kitchenette type area with a sink, a kettle and cupboards. Tea bags, disposable cups and sugar were provided too which was a nice touch. The fridge however, didn't work.

The linen was clean (a plus considering we had just come from a hotel nearby that did not have clean linen!). The beds were a little hard but we slept fine. The duvets were new looking but didn't have any covers which seemed intentional.

The bathroom looked pretty up to date in décor but there was no shower curtain. As a result the water went everywhere. This wouldn't have been a huge problem if the water drained properly but it didn't. The drain in the middle of the floor was at a different level to the rest of the floor and so instead of the water slowly draining away, it would just turn into a giant puddle. Luckily we had our own slippers. We also then realised why we had a floor wiper standing in the corner of the room. We literally had to wipe the floor every time any of us used the bathroom. Not only was this annoying but also worrying as it was dangerous if one slipped.

The wi-fi was a bit temperamental and only worked in certain areas of the lobby.

I was also told that we paid over the normal rate per night because we had booked online. We had booked through booking.com and online it seemed like a very good rate but I guess you take what you can when you are planning everything last minute.

Overall it's not a bad place but would be good if management could take note of this review and sort the few things that I have pointed out above. Small changes could make a huge difference to the guests' experience and comfort.
