Great Hotel & Location

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 10 Sept 2012
Went here in 2010,stayed 5 nights, great hotel and is only 5 mins from Masjid Haram. Beautiful location and next to every local amenity that you can think of.

Massive rooms and kept clean on a daily basis. Not a 5* hotel and it doesnt pretend it is either. A very very good 4* hotel with good staff. Reception can be a bit problematic but on the whole this was a great place for when we did Umrah. We went in a party of 10 with elderly and young kids.

Only problem is that there are not enough lifts to deal with peak use. Other than that would happily go back.

I booked, paid and got confirmation for my stay in this hotel eight days in advance. But when I arrived on the date they simply said there is no room and no booking on my name. I was shocked. I made the booking on the Saudi Arabian Airlines official website. They passed the buck on to the Saudi Arabian Airlines. Does they mean the Saudi Arabian Airlines or the government authorities concerned with it are fraudulent? However my flight bookings were all right and also my earlier hotel bookings were also all right. Whoever may be the culprit I suffered the worst and incurred the losses.

My wife and i just spent 8 nights at this hotel, and after the reviews we had read, i was a bit skeptical before booking...but..........................
Alhumdulillah! what a great hotel!
Recently refurbished with great decor, rooms and service! A nice coffee area and reception is very welcoming indeed.
This is true 5 Star hotel in Makkah, and if your worried bysome of the reviews don't be, this is a great hotel with good service allround. We stayed here for 8 nights in May 2012, the location was great, being so close to the Haram allowed us to got to and fro from the Masjid swiftly and with ease, not even a minutes walk. Breakfast was a treat, with both cold food and hot food (different selection daily), and for an added bonus there is a chef every morning at the breakfast bar who will create your dream omelette.
Location wise its very handy, you have Bin Dawood just across the street, great falafel shops, and shopping malls on both side (Hilton and Zam Zam)
I would definitely go back, and recommend others to go also.

Many thanks to the staff and breakfast chef, may Allah reward you all!

we stayed here for a total of 9 nights. 6 nights before we travelled to Medina and 3 on the return from medina, and before returning to the UK.

This hotel far surpassed my expectations, it is newly renovated, with the lounge giving an impressively warm welcome on arrival, as the decor is tastefully done.

we got checked in relatively quickly considering there were 8 adults and 2 children. we had 3 rooms in total, which were clean enough, although the carpets need to be vacumed a bit more thoroughly.

the beds were comfortable and the rooms were very spacious, giving great views of the haram shareef.

The best thing about the hotel is definately its location, it is barely a minutes walk from the Haram with easy access to a number of gates to the mosque.

There are many food places around the hotel, with bin dawood shopping centre across the street, and zam zam towers shopping centre right next door.

There are a number of shops across the road from the hotel that sell amazing haleeb chai (Milky tea) and also Mint tea.

Great litle hotel, above average location, pleasent staff, and good breakfast.

Stayed here for 7 nights during April 2012 - Booked 2 room - 3 bed & 2 bed.

Hotel was very nice and newly renovated. Very close to the Haram - and you can see the Haram as soon as you step out of the hotel. Walking distance 1-2 mins.

nice breakfast buffer including both hot and cold food.

Room: The rooms are spacious with plenty of cupboards and drawers. There are splendid views of the Haram from the room entrance.

Bathroom: Standard sized bathroom which was always kept clean and tidy. TIP: No washing line in bathroom so bring along some string to hang clothes.

Location: The hotel is a few meters from the King Fahd entrances on Al Misail Road. There are plenty of restaurants and take-aways across the road at the Hilton and at the Abraj Al Bait Towers (4th floor). There are also quaint little shops further up the street reminiscent of the old Gaza.

Overall: Definitely worth it to stay at Kindah if only for its location.
