I requested a non smoking room and was given a very smelly smoking room. Rang to reception 3 times to get call answered. Was told a change of room will be ready at 4pm. The smell in the room was terrible. I called down just after 4pm, was told 5 mins. Called after 10 when they didn't call back. My call to reception went unanswered for 20mins. Good job they have speakerphone, was able to redial and keep the line busy while I finished my make-up! Finally answered and the reception explained he had just come on shift. So previous guy went home and left my call ringing out! This guy sent a bell boy, Shachu, up for my luggage and new room card. Thankfully they hire good bell boys who are honest! New room was also a smoking room, so he came with me to reception and after 3 suggestions by reception was able to confirm that the suggested new room number really is a non smoking room as requested. Excellent service by Shachu, shame on you Golden Tulip Management, you really need to train your reception staff better!
