“Most important, felt safe”
Reviewed 27 June 2013

First to note is this is a "value" hotel. The room was comfortable and clean. Shower floods the entire bathroom, which was inconvenient to say the least. The staff was very attentive and it felt like a safe place to stay.

The architecture of this building is wild. it is a modern building styled as an ocean liner - in all respects.

There is a huge construction site opposite (which is going to be a Hilton hotel, which will mean a lot of competition for this place when it's finished.....). That said, this doesn't intrude onto your stay here as regards noise, etc.

It's situated about 15 minutes from the airport, less than a minute's walk from the large new Granada mall, and close to Sabic's HQ and a huge new office complex being finished whiah has the likes of SEC moving in....So it was pretty busy with guests when we were there.

The hotel has a pleasant reception area, which the staff are pretty efficient at making use of (while we were there they had an area cordoned off as a children's play area, and when they had finished (must have been a private party) they proceeded to take all the children's stuff away and carry in large settees to make it a seating area).

The staff are one of the good points of the hotel, relatively friendly and helpful.

I was upgraded to a large suite (1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, large lounge and kitchen area). Colleagues (business trip..) were in a mix of standard rooms (normal size bedroom) or smaller suite (1 bedroom, smaller lounge, kitchen area). All the rooms are furnished in a rather brash modern Saudi style (dark wood doors and blue/light brown tiles for the bathroom...!) but it's OK. Generally the rooms are in good condition (as the hotel is pretty new) though there is some evidence of wear and tear (e.g. one kitchen cabinet door in my room hanging off the hinges).

There are a few minor problems with the hotel though
- I struggled to get working WiFi in my room. I could get a signal and connectivity but it was so slow as to be unusable. I called reception and the guy they sent was very helpful but ended up saying it was "too many guests using it". Err, try not enough bandwidth installed for the number of guests..... That said, others in my group had no problems so if you need good WiFi avoid the 1st floor....
- at times there was a bit of a sewage smell from the drains in my room. The saudi drainage system has an open drain vent on the bathroom floor which is covered with a loose plate. It looks like a design error in the drainage system allows a bit of pressure to build up and push air (and hence smell) from the drainage system into the room. Ir wasn't a big problem and it was only now and then, but.....
- as mentioned before in some areas the rooms were starting to look a little worn...
- 2 colleagues tried the breakfast and were very underwhelmed (and both are pretty easy-going in this area) - doesn't look like a strong point. I can't comment personally as I didn't try it.

So what are the good points ?
- good facilities in the rooms (with the possible exception of Wi-Fi depending on where you stay)
- convenient for the airport (with a large mall nearby)
- striking architecture
- reasonable prices
- helpful staff.

All in all I'd rate the hotel as OK for business, but not somewhere I'd recommend as a vacation / holiday / destination to take someone to impress them....

i liked the food taste although the variety was a bit limited
I found cleanness been take care of carefully in public aries and rooms ,
During my stay i never exposed to bad smell or surface dust
It is a quiet hotel ,professional staff , every one knows how to make you enjoy good  staying experience at their hotel .
Free internet was great covering all aeries , ac in the room was very good as well
I really would like to stay again in my next visit to Riyad

I recently stayed in this hotel.
The staff has been courteous and helpful, the room was quite confortable even if ( as mentioned by somebody else ) in the morning the air in the room was smelling of food.
Breakfast had a good variety of food while taste and quality were quite good.
Overall I consider this hotel as a good address for taking handling business near the international airport of Riyadh. Prices are reasonable.

and found it reasonably good apart from the sewer smell ,especially in the bedroom area. Although two of my associates stayed in other rooms and did not notice any smell. Unusually the rooms were equipped with automatic air fresheners . Must be a reason. The staff were very courteous and helpful ,the food in the restaurant was also very palatable. My bathroom had a walk in shower which was great for washing the sand off ,and rest of b/room was nice size, though my associates rooms(at Front of hotel)had much smaller bathrooms with a bath and /shower. Overall for a medium priced business hotel good value. Shame about the smell!!. P.S rooms in back of hotel get full blast of loud speakers from local Mosque, fine at all times, except for early morning prayer, during my visit 5.30 AM.

Riyadh is Riyadh and so to spend a fortune in an expensive hotel (with the traffic that goes along) is not worth it in my opinion. Therefore I choose the value hotels as they are more reasonable and offer much the same but at much lower cost. I go for business - in and out. This hotel is close to the airport and to one of the largest Malls in Riyadh. There is a large business park that has opened up close by with a lot more construction going on with more opportunities for business to migrate to the area. The breakfasts are normal to good, I mean what can you really expect for breakfast right? I was fortunate to be upgraded to a small suite which was great. The bed was hard but surprizingly comfortable. The staff were efficient and accomodating. My only gripe was that the aircon was very noisy. Would I go back - Why not!
