“Very good hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 October 2013

Highly recommended for business travelers. It is close to the Kingdom Tower, so you won't have any trouble in case your taxi driver does not speak English. Beware of the A/C: the rooms' temperatures are close to those of refrigerators (as is the case all over KSA). Service is good, breakfast is superb and the rooms are very spacious. WiFi is available in the rooms with decent connectivity.

Excellent central location on Olaya Street, about 5 minutes walk from the Kingdom Tower. Great views of the tower from outside the hotel. The Skybridge at the top of the tower provides panoramic views over Riyadh. Hotel rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and pillows, large bathrooms, free wifi with reliable connections, good TV reception (although an annoying message kept popping up on Sports channel checking if the smartcard had been paid!), plenty of wardrobe space, tea/coffee facilities and safe. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Airport transfer with the hotel car costs £22 one way. Breakfast is good with a decent range of dishes on offer .I used the hotel restaurant on two evenings. The buffet was very good and cost 118 Riads with a soft drink. Good choice of starters, mains and desserts. I would stay here again.
A useful tip-Immigration at Riyadh Airport is not a pleasant experience either on arrival or departure. On departure, give yourself plenty of time to clear immigration. I arrived at the airport two hours before departure and only just made the flight on the final call. Going through immigration is painfully slow and is conducted by immigration staff who can be abrupt, controlling and unpleasant.

Executives was just across the street from our client, so the location was ideal for that purpose. It is also a short (but adventurous - you need to cross the busy Olaya Street) walk from the local landmark Kingdom Center with an upscale shopping center including a food court with a number of restaurants.
My room was comfortably large, clean. Some noise from the fans of the air conditioning system from the outside, but did not bother me. Colleagues with a room in the street side said that if you are sensitive to noise, you may find traffic noise and early morning prayer calls somewhat disturbing.
The buffet breakfast was good enough, with a fairly large selection. We had the buffet dinner once and it was OK, but I understand for the 100+ SAR you can get better meals in Riyadh.
There is a well equipped gym, small pool, sauna, steam bath and Jacuzzi which I really needed after long days of work.
It was not possible to get a box breakfast for the morning when I left early.
This was my first visit to Riyadh, so I can not compare Executives with other hotels there. The hotel was reserved by our client, and I don't know if they can get special rates, but the room rate was not high and for the same standard you'll have to pay much more in other cities.

Room Tip: Rooms on the street side have better view but more street noise.

This hotel is in the main commerical heart of Riyadh. That is what you are paying for. If you stay here, hopefully another party is paying the bill for you. Better values are to be had elsewhere in the city if you don't have to be in this area. But there is nothing wrong with the hotel itself. One reviewer recommended eating dinner elsewhere and that their dinner buffet is not worth the money. That is exactly right. A friend took me to the dinner buffet here one evening. It was absolutely the worst ever. He was embarrassed. The food was dry and had been sitting on the burners for many hours, nothing even stirred. It was past its prime hours before. It needed to be tossed. The secret was obviously out, there were virtually no other patrons there. This is no joke, it's the truth.

Location for work is perfect, not sure for pleasure how it would suit. I should be booked into a non smoking room, but smells of smoke and the room is equiped with an ash tray......Breakfast buffet is good standard, but the lunch and evening buffet is not worth the money you pay, there is better options close by and far chaeper.

Room Tip: Try and get the front of the hotel, the road is not that noisey and the windows cancel most of the n...

I was here during Ramadan 2013. Cudos to the hotel for accomodating those of us keeping unusual schedules during this period. Hotel was ok, just not great and had a couple of nagging issues:
- non-smoking room had ash tray... that always means it isn't a non-smoking room.
- staff weren't keeping track of a PAID late checkout and I had to set that up 3 times (yes three).

So, when I am in Riyadh again and visiting the same client for a extended period I will stay again. If I have multiple places to be in Riyadh, I will probably look to another hotel.

I am writing this review based on international standards that I am familiar with & not the standards of Riyadh.

The hotel it'self is quite big & most taxi drivers know how to get there. If not, explaining it is opposite to Jarir & just down the road from it, will get you close enough to recognize the area & guide the taxi the final few meters.

Inside the hotel is decorated in a marble/gold style & has a mezzanine floor

I got a Kingsized room which overall was good. It had tissues, vanity kits
AC worked great, efficient & cold.
Breakfast was quite good. Live egg station, good selection of cheeses, cold cuts, hot dishes, deserts, cereal

Pluses:
Free Wireless Internet
Good breakfast
Great Location in Olaya

Cons:
They allow indoor smoking pretty much everywhere except the restaurants.
I specifically asked for a non-smoking room, but was given one heavy with the smell of smoke (on both visits).

Room Tip: Only good view is the side facing the main road.
