I booked in late which was no problem and the booking process was very quick, photocopy of my passport as normal and signature on the room sheet, no money taken or asked for, I was taken to my studio apartment which was a very good size and well appointed with basic amenities, within 10 minutes of arrival the staff brought me a 1.5l bottle of water free of charge and brought me numerous tea bags and coffee with sugar and milk for my morning tea.

The kitchen had a good size fridge freezer large enough for a small family, there was a microwave, kettle and a 4 ring hob which I didn't use, there is plenty of worktop area and everything was clean.

The bathroom was fine, very clean, well appointed and I liked the walk in shower, only negative here was the shower head was a bit low if you are 6ft or over, similar to most places in the Gulf though!

The bed now there is something, as a previous reviewer said it was like sleeping on concrete and I have slept on concrete and this is not an exaggeration! Obviously they want the beds to last a long time but sleep quality was very bad as I was waking up every hour having to move because of the pain! I spoke to reception about this the next morning and said to them that they should have some mattress toppers available for western guests and they said they would do that in future so if you stay there ask for one as you will need it! The other drawback with the sleeping is that the airconditioning fan in the room is either on or off and when it is on it is like a hurricane the noise is horrendous so I had to switch the fan off which actually worked ok as somehow the room still kept reasonably cook overnight! The only disturbance to be aware of is the aircon condensor unit being on the balcony (forgot to mention that it had one and it is nice but no view) and when the condensor comes on if is quite loud so make sure the door is shut properly! There is no blackout blinds which is a shame as it would help with the noise of the condensor unit as well as the light which isn't too bad!

The room as wired internet via a grotty cable about a metre long with the tags broken off so you have to hold the cable in and can only use your laptop sat on the bed next to the bedside cabinet which is where the eternet connection is so if I stayed there again I would take my own ethernet cable at least 2 metres because there is a lovely leather armchair in the room to sit in while you are browsing and a little desk if you could reach it!

There is wireless downstairs and in the restaurant just ask the staff and they will give you the password to use it.

The pool area could do with about 6 more loungers and the pool was fine in October where the outside temperature was still 38*C, the pool area also really needs some sun shades and some tables to make it very relaxing and a usable useful space!

There is a small restaurant on the seventh floor and also a washroom with a big washing machine not sure if this is available for guest use but if it is it is very useful all you would need is an iron and ironing board in there for it again to be a very useful facility!

There is a small air conditioned gym with a flat screen TV the equipment is in very good condition and the equipment is great for cardio work and some weights as well. There is a steam room and sauna but they are closed up which is a shame because they would be a great asset! The area outside the gym is a big flat open terrace which again could benefit from some loungers table and sun shades, it would be a great long term place if it had everything I mentioned.

The facilities close by are very good, lots of restaurnats, supermarkets, pharmacy, night club, Hard Rock Cafe within half a mile of location but not cheap! As I said at the beginning with a little work and a little money spent this would be a great place to stay long term and short term, they need to work on the breakfast as well, I didn't even know omellettes were available and the closing time for breakfast on the booking form said 10am but the notice of the door says 9.30am!

Stayed here Jan 14 to 16.
The accomodation is a fully furnished apartment, both rooms are big, bright and spacious and clean, bathroom size is also above average with large walk in shower with multiple shower heads.
The kitchen has everything you need from toaster, microwave, coffee maker, tea pot, pans, silverware and dishes.
It is a walk in turnkey ready to use apartment, but when you are renting it just for a few days as a hotel room, the staff should know to set it up differently. Good location, you can easily walk to supermarket, many restaurant choices, big pharmacy next door, and a club on the next corner for drinks and dancing, all without an expensive cab ride.
There was only one towel in bathroom, no water in the room, no spare toilet paper, no coffee or tea, and the bed is the hardest I have ever seen anywhere in the world, it is equivalent to sleeping on concrete.
The staff was very freindly and helpful, but you have to ask for everything.

NOTE: You need to watch the taxis here, they will overcharge you if you let them. First of all, by law here they have 2 rates, rate 1 is from 6 am to 10 pm, fare should start at 1 BD, but the meter is always set to rate 2 to start at 1.25, and when you go to pay, they will press a button on the meter and add 2 BD to the fare. Give them what is on the meter when you reach your destination, round up to the next BD, giive them that and walk away, if you get one that still wants to give you a hard time, just advise him you will call the hotline number on the taxi window, he will quickly become your best freind and happily accept what was on the meter.
All taxis by law have the rules posted inside both windows in back seat as well as the hotline number prominently displayed.

We stayed 5 nights in the delux room, which is not really a room but an appartment! Overall we found the staff very friendly, the accomodation spacious and clean. The only downside is the noise from across the street at night, there is a club/bar in the opposite building. Also the breakfast is very basic and the swimming pool was not temperature controlled and so too cold for us to swim in. Good value for money, we would stay there again.

Overall, the apartment was big and spacious with a fully equipped Kitchen and a balcony. LCD TV w/ satellite. We could throw a party in here! The place is very quiet and family friendly with no Saudis screaming in the corridors in the middle of the night. There is also an indoor parking in the basement. Buffet breakfast served omelets/ Sausage and cereal. I really enjoyed this place and would recommend it for anyone.
