Spent two nights here while visiting Bahrain. On my tour of the Gulf Countries, this was the best hotel yet. The grounds are beautiful, gym is amazing, and indoor and outdoor pool huge. The indoor poor had an adult area with several different small pools at different temperatures. It was amazing place to relax and relieve the stress away.

The rooms are nice. It's the Ritz. I did find it strange to have a light out curtain in the room so when I arrived I thought I had no window to look out of. Also, security is tight. They have a metal detector at the door everyone goes through. It is like the airport. After a day, you get used to it and just go through the motions.

I would definitely stay here again to just hang out in the gym and the little beach they have.

Room Tip: Get a room on the upper floors overlooking the pool.

We stayed in the Club Lounge room, very comfortable, clean, no issues at all. Club lounge provided snacks, breakfast, brunch etc and we were delighted with selection of food and drinks. Staff were courteous, polite, remembered when we had visited last time. Beach is always enjoyable, and renovation in the pool area has made it even better. Go for as walk on the beach, and there are two gorgeous parrots living in a cage close to Trader Vic's.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms are great.

came back to try their brunch, the pool renovations are finished and the new pool area looks amazing! it was packed with loads of kids and families on a friday ...i guess is their busy day.
The brunch overall had a very nice layout, this is not the typical brunch where people get drunk and start being load, the atmosphere is of families or "well behaved" adults.. I was a bit disappointed that there was no omelette or eggs live cooking station.. in the end of the day brunch is a mix of things and usually theres some breakfast items.. overall the food quality is fantastic! This brunch does not include any cocktails only sparkling, red and white wine but is quite good, the service is very attentive and the kitchen team in the stations was very helpful and friendly. They have a nice band but you can only listen to them if you sit inside and that was a let down, we were sitting outside and didnt really had music..
overall good brunch

Sailtower appartments
We were staying in one of the business appartments of the nearby sailtower which belongs to the ritz carlton. My husband was doing business in bahrain for a longer period and for this purpose the appartments are more than convenient. They are very spacious with 3 large bedrooms, living room, fully equipped kitchen and even a bar. The sailtower has its own outdoor pool, which is nice for a little swim in the evening. The bathrooms start to show their age and also the white fluffy carpet throughout the appartment is not my taste and a bit ugly but ok overall. I appreciated the kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave etc especially with young kids. And in contrary to the hotel you can bring alcohol bottles into the room.

Beach
The ritz facilities are only a short wlk away. The beach is beautiful and most of the time quite empty except for the weekends. It is facing a little artificial island, has clean modern sunbeds, friendly staff (with some exceptions) and the shallow water and beach are perfect for kids.

Pool area
Has just been reopened from major renovation and is really amazing. Beautifully laid out with lots of nice details. Also the overlook cafe is new with pizza oven, salad bar and new kitchen. Love the cesear salad :-). The kids pool has great sunsails and there are plenty of lifeguards on duty. Poor men must stay all day :-( , dear ritz give them a chair! Again plenty of nice sunbeds, nice towels, little tables etc. New restrooms replaced the old ones. Unfortunately the lovely kids playground had gone vs. Our first stay, maybe renovation not yet completed. Fortunately parrots, flemingos and fish were stll there to the great joy of the kids.

Restaurants
We love the indian restaurant nirvana. Great quality food, live music and authentic athmosphere. Also traders vics is in a beautiful setting. And we can recommend nearby bushido, terrific! Prices not cheap but all ok on european standard.

Check in
Parked up at the door to off load our bags but no assistance was offered. The Aston Martin brigade were getting more attention. Onto the desk. All staff were busy but a man asked for my passport while he was talking to somebody on he phone. Waited. He then motioned me to the next girl to sort us out. Hmmm

The room
A bit pokey. TV didn't work. Man came and changed the batteries.A strange thing eveything is in boxes, even the bottled water !! One socket for kettle and coffee maker. Man came with an adaptor.Tried to look out of the window..filthy.Man came with some fruit.Internet wouldn't connect two men came. Two girls came with balloons ( Girl Fridays birthday ).

The breakfast
A trite expensine @ 13BD. I hate it when the plates you have used aren't taken away when you have finished with them. They weren't.

Highlight none in the hotel BUT outside last evening I saw a Ferrari being driven in. It parked up and I said " nice car ". Want to drive it he said.? OMG. I wish I hadn't downed 4 pints.

Would I stay again ? No.

My husband and I stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Bahrain from April 6-12. I was on business at an event hosted by the hotel and we stayed an extra few days for pleasure.
The hotel is wonderfully appointed with attentive staff, fine dining and great amenities. The pool and gym are open to hotel residents but also operate as a health club from local Bahrainis and apparently there is a 2 year waiting list for a membership.
We attended a number of the exercise classes and they were world class. The facilities staff were even able to let me borrow a pair of running shoes.
We ate at La Mediterranean restaurant and at Trader Vics. The breakfast and lunch buffets in La Med were good, many choices featuring local dishes as well as the standard fare and Trader Vics had great atmosphere and good food and cocktails.

The pool area was being worked on throughout the month of March and the work just finished this week. The pool is huge, with a shaded area for kids and 2 whirlpools. The hotel is situated on its own private beach which is well-groomed and well attended. A lady brought us cold towels and chilled watermelon slices when were were at the beach.

I would definitely return.

Room Tip: The rooms on the city side of the hotel have good views of the beach
