We visited the tree of life during a sand storm. It was very intresting see a tree in middle of the desert. It is of the main sights. If you go to Bahrain it is something you might want to visit. There is nothing else to see if you go visit the tree. We enjoyed seeing even if the sand was blowing the entire time.

As I read others reviews I laughed thinking, they were missing the meaning of the tree... however, after driving through a seemingly endless spaghetti of roads and pipeline we arrived at the Tree of Life....

There were about six other cars and it was that...a large tree in the middle of the desert. It isn't exactly spectacular and as we hiked up to it, but if you think about the fact it has more meaning than oomph, you may find it worthwhile. We didn't have some awakening or anything but it was nice to think that something could survive in such a desolate area.

It's dry and sandy and there is nothing there at all, so don't expect anything but a tree in a desert. You will need to hike through sand to get to it so wear appropriate foot attire. I wore flip flops.... not really appropriate.

Sadly, it's been vandalized, but like many places in the world, this is true. It's something to do if you are in the area and feel like a drive.

Quite a long drive out of the city centre of Manama , but well worth it. Spectacular to see this wonderful old tree in the middle of the desert thriving! If your thing is calm, peacefulness & feelings, you will love this old tree with all it's tranquility.

true, it’s just a tree and it’s in the middle of nowhere; but whether it’s worth the drive depends on your perspective. we can’t say the tree is a great destination, although it’s clear that there are efforts to make the area more tourist friendly. new work and a sign suggests a visitor centre isn’t too far in the future, so i expect the end point to improve. but for us, getting to the tree was more than half the fun.

it’s fairly easy to stay near town, visit the mosque, museum and souk, but what about the rest of the islands? although a tree may not seem like much of a site to lure the lonely traveler to the middle of the island, it’s better than watching oil wells. or is it? perhaps most important, we found ourselves feeling more in touch with the country by making the trip. oil wells, campsites, sand and relative isolation are part and parcel of the experience which is Bahrain.

more obscure, there’s an annual running event across the country which traverses an area not far from the tree. as the saying goes, if you’re going to run across a country, better to choose a small country. visiting the tree was a way to see the country without joining the race!

Impressive in that it's a tree in the middle of a desert area, but hey ... It's just a tree, okay? As Samuel Johnson said, "Worth seeing but not worth going to see."
