“Great Apartment for Families”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2013 via mobile

I stayed here with my family and another family for a weekend (4 adults and 3 children). The 2 bedroom apt was very clean and quite spacious. The grounds and pool area were very nice, as was the complimentary breakfast.

I have stayed in several apartments in Manama, both high and low end, and Seef Residence is a nice middle of the road option - its not overly new/posh, but it is very clean and spacious and the pricepoint is quite good. My family and I would definitely stay here again.

Located in the financial district not too far from the Ritz Carlton, I found the Elite Seef Residence to be a great place to base our stay in Bahrain. Most of the clientele are business people so the staff are trained to be business oriented which worked very well. I was traveling with someone unrelated so we searched for a suite set up instead of two hotel rooms, and the Elite Seef fit that criteria; it was about the same price or less as two hotel rooms plus it came with a fully equipped kitchen, living and dining area. The rooms were large with high ceilings, clean and very comfortable. There is a lot of closet space but not many hangers. The breakfast was good with a wide variety of English, Asian and American foods. If you book directly with the hotel you get free wi-fi which I found to be fast and reliable. The wi-fi had a use limit for the whole stay so I used it wisely and never asked how much it would cost if I went over. I discovered that no one walks anywhere in Bahrain so being away from the tourist district was not a problem and it was much more quiet at night. There is a taxi stand next door to the hotel so getting a taxi to anywhere was easy plus there is a rental car agency a block away and the staff will arrange a car for you. There is a very nice pool with restaurant and bar that hosted many different events while we were there. I highly recommend the Elite Seef and would stay there again without hesitation.

Elite Residence in Seef can best be described as functional with good shared facilities. But when it comes down to style and comfort, there is something lacking. I stayed in room 2219 on the second floor for two nights. It's a semi furnished apartment. The main bedroom looks very spartan (see photo). No bedside lamp and minimal fittings. The pillows are foam filled and not very forgiving. The bed itself rather lumpy. No pictures on the walls adds to the sense it's not very welcoming. It's at the lower end of the price scale and for good reason. Good for short stays but that's all.
The shower was rather weak and the bathroom had a rather poor smell about it. Good Internet and hi-fi, good pool and bar area and average food. Never mind, Bushido's is just across the road and that's the best restaurant in Bahrain in my opinion.

For the most part, the Elite Seef Residence is a relatively comfortable place to stay if you need an aparthotel in the business district. The rooms are well-sized and the housekeeping staff do a good job keeping them clean and tidy. A small mini-mart provides a few options if you don’t want to eat room service all the time but a huge Carrefour is located just five minutes away by taxi / car if you’re planning a longer stay.

The facilities are good with an excellent gym and a well-kept pool. Be careful of the pool, though. Despite the warm air temperatures, the water is kept deliberately cool! Watch out in the gym too – sometimes you can struggle to wrestle the equipment away from the instructor who likes to work out all the time…!

The hotel represents relatively good value for money particularly when you consider the price of some of the hotels but it’s not great value. The food and alcohol are over-priced but you can overcome these issues by eating out or making food yourself and it’s possible to buy alcohol at a shop near the Gulf Hotel.

The main challenge is the management and its insatiable desire to put profit before guests. When we first arrived, there were a number of small problems – the WiFi didn’t work, the washing machine was broken and the safe stopped working. Each time the problem was fixed but not fully or properly. It was a ‘make do and mend’ approach.

The ‘profit before guests’ approach was most notable, though, in its events. At weekends, the hotel puts on a number of events. In our most recent experience (weekend of 8th & 9th March), there was a party on Friday night which ran until 2am. Despite having a room facing away from the pool, the music was so loud it was impossible to sleep. The hotel management refused to do anything about it.

The next day, we planned a morning by the pool but that was not possible because they were setting up for another party. This one ran from 3pm to 10pm regardless of whether guests wanted to use the pool area, or the restaurant. An evening and a day ruined by the hotel’s attitude to its guests.

The situation was made worse by the hotel allowing the party to continue until 1.00am and again, the noise was so loud we couldn’t sleep. After numerous calls and visits to our room by the management the sound was eventually reduced allowing us to get to sleep at around 12.30am.

I have no problem with parties but I do have a problem with being forced to join them.
So, if you’re in your 20s or 30s and want to party, you’re likely to enjoy your stay. If you’re here with work, or a family, and want somewhere quiet to relax in the evenings this is definitely not the place for you. I’d recommend finding a private apartment for rent – it’ll be cheaper, quieter and most apartment buildings have a communal pool and gym.

Room Tip: If you don't like partying, ask for a room facing away from the pool. Generally, these are even...

I stayed at Elite Seef Residence in an one-bedroom apartment for 17 days (business trip). It was a comfortable stay. The pool is excellent and the breakfast too. Generally, food at this hotel is very good.

It's a merely seven minutes walk to Seef Mall, the second largest shopping Mall in Bahrain. The hotel is also not too far from Bahrain City Centre, the biggest shopping Mall.

I'll stay there again definitely.

Hotel was so perfect for vacation itself. Love the ambiance of the pool, accommodating staff from the reception area. But far from the airport. Lack of staff because i had a difficulty to find a waiter for an order..Over all very good enough to stay again...:=)

We have stayed at Elite Seef Residences numerous times. We have stayed both in two bedrooms and one bedroom apartments. The apartments are generally clean and basic. The hotel is conveniently in Seef, fairly close to Ritz Carlton roundabout. Breakfast is included with the room. The breakfast spread is fairly generous. There is an egg station where you could request to have eggs done to your request. The spread is a mixture of English, Continental and Arabic array.

However one must remember to request for a non smoking room if one does not smoke. Just had an encounter the past week. The room is clean but there is a smell of stale smoke in the central airconditioning. As I mentioned earlier, we have stayed at this hotel before and did not have this problem previously. Since we arrived quite late at night and went out most of the day and came back after a midnight the following night we didn't bother to switch rooms.

We like the kitchenette although we don't necessarily use it. The fridge is very handy to keep some of the groceries we purchase fresh. There is also free wifi. Unfortunately the wifi passwords given to us are only valid for 24 hours. The reception is very obliging however, when we called about getting a new password for the second night, they sent someone to our door with the new password.

However there are signs that place is beginning to need better upkeep as it is beginning to show signs or wear and tear over the years. For example yellow grouting at the back of toilet door is not very inviting.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced place to stay in the Seef area (you'll have more choices in Adliya at competitive prices) then Elite Seef Residence is an excellent choice. Its fairly close to both Seef Mall and City Center Malls, no need to go through traffic jams to get into other parts of the island.
