We checked into the hotel at four AM. My son left at 4 PM and they charged my double occupancy for two days?! Did not get anywhere trying to explaining to the front desk.
The safe in the room got broken and it took an hour for them to fix it so that I could get to my stuff! And got late to my meeting.
The food except for chicken kebab which is OK is terrible and overpriced for Iranian standards always gave me upset stomach!.
I was in the shower when a service crew entered the room, to fix a broken phone that I did not even ask for!!
Most of the crew are rude and untrained to work in hospitality industry

we spent 2 nights there,it is fully renovated with spacious rooms&bathrooms.
our room had a great view of Mt alborz .satelite had rather good choice of channels.
breakfast was simple compare to same hotel in other countries.
location is perfect also,in vicinity there is a nice restaurant named buka with delicious foods at reasonable price.
at last staff were friendly &helpful except reception section.
in total i would like to come back there again.

Room Tip: rooms on the high floors with Mt alborz view

We stayed at the hotel for fiew nights in November this year, it was very satisfied by the service, the hobtel facilities and the excellent cleanliness and by the accessibility to the center. I recommend it to everyone.

A great hotel to stay in Tehran, the rooms are very large with great views over the city to the south and the mountains to the north.

well located in the north of Tehran, nice view on the mountain, well renovated hotel .the service is good ,the room are large and confortable ,few problem with the alarm system ,technology playing it self.
For a 5 star hotel the Food Beverage offer could be better , the quality of food is good.
the IP tv choice is poor.
the recreaion facilities are nice, very modern and spacious lobby.

A great hotel to stay in Tehran, the rooms are very large with great views over the city to the south and the mountains to the north.
A truly impressive place considering it is Iran, I am Iranian myself and found myself stuck in Tehran after a surprise visit went wrong with nobody being home, however my one night in the Azadi gave me a great chance to relax and enjoy the hotel, and the staff were most helpful and considerate.
I truly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Tehran for a great start to their visit, be it business or pleasure.

The Azadi Grand Hotel stands about 1000 feet above the general skyline(smog) of the sprawl of Tehran.
It is in the district of Evin, across from the "international Fair" - a well attended amusement park, although it can't be heard from the Hotel.
The mountains are behind it and the City is in front, with the rooms arranged along a central corridor, the choice is
"Mountain" or "City"

In a time long ago it was the Hyatt, it is 26 plus floors high with the rooms starting about the 5th floor (1 = ground !!)
I have stayed in Tehran several times and in this hotel 3 times.
It is comfortable, the rooms are big and each has a (full size) Fridge for a mini bar
(contains only 2 bottles of water), the bathrooms are large and have all the expected equipment.
there are NO balconies and the large full width/height windows DO NOT open (good job really) but the AC is good.
only ever stayed during warmer months

The general decor is "faded elegance", but it is generally clean and well maintained. apparently there is a pool but I don't swim.

The restaurants (dinner etc) are on the Top floors, I used them a couple of times, it is acceptable fare.
I did however tend to use Room service mostly, limited but again pleasant enough.
I was lucky in that the company I was doing business with fed me during the day.

Breakfast was a general mix of Asian/western food; fried eggs and a type of sausage (beef based), fruit, "sticky buns", coffee /tea, juice. The lobby appears to be open from about 10am til 2am and is a very popular place for the affluent to be seen. It seems the hotel is used for a lot of visiting dignitaries.

The rate was around 130 usd/day inc Bfast, BUT must be paid in USD (ALL POST 1996 issue)

It takes about 30 mins to get to from the THR Airport, but almost all foreign flights now use IKA,(appx 90km from City!)
As yet I have not passed thru IKA so have no idea how long it might take.
Traffic in Tehran has to been experienced to be believed !!

Airport pickup can be arranged thru the hotel, again the company I work with does this for me, so I have never used it.

For a first time (only time) visit to Tehran I would recommend this hotel, I would use it again but am now trying others, just to compare.
