Really enjoyed my stay here. The setup of this hotel is awesome and the hallways of each floor are beautiful. The double room was extremely clean, bathroom was spotless too. The 2 beds are small, but very comfortable with perfect pillows. I had dry cleaning done for some dress shirts: very good price and they delivered them right to my closet the same evening.

The breakfast buffet is spectacular! Huge assortment of hot foods, pastries, juices, omelet/waffle station. There's a pool on the top floor on the roof, small but very nice. They have good music playing so it caters to a younger crowd (25-40) without turning away families or elderly.

I think the hotel is really expensive but we got a decent rate (230 USD). I would go back if the rate was around the same.

Nice large room, breathtaking view on Kuwait city and the sea. Very good bed. Breakfast is self service, on the 19th floor; Lot of diiferent warm foods, fruit, pasties, meat etc.... A very good hotel for a buiseness trip and for vacation.

Room Tip: Ask for a view on the sea

This is a relatively new (3 years old) 5-star hotel, the third Safira hotel in Kuwait. Make sure you don't confuse this hotel with the "Safira International" which is located near to the centre of Kuwait city. The "Safira Hotel and Residences" is located in the "Fintas" area, which is about half an hour drive out of the city. There isn't much of anything of interest in the area around the hotel, but it is relatively close to the airport. The property actually consists of hotel rooms as well as serviced apartments. Once you're there, you are a long way from anything of interest, so be prepared to spend your time at the hotel.

First impressions are not at all bad, everything looks the part. Look a bit closer and you'll find signs of a property built a bit too quickly, with some corners cut on quality. For example the paint and rendering on the outside is flaking off in places, some of the bathroom fittings are rusty already. Still, those are relatively minor quibbles, and overall it's quite an acceptable place.

The service is very good, lots of staff, and all of them friendly and eager to help. That's nice, and easily the best feature of the hotel.

The air-conditioning in the hotel seems to be cranked up to the maximum, making the general areas uncomfortably cold. On the positive side, the room air-conditioning can be individually adjusted, it's quiet and the digital thermostat works very well.

The atrium design of the hotel looks nice, but I found during the week I stayed in the hotel that it also resulted in all the noise from the lobby area, and any exhibitions being held on the lower function level, carrying up straight to your room, through the not-so-well-soundproofed door. It's not terrible, but was annoying at times.

The hotel faces the sea, and rooms on that side have a relatively pleasant view out to sea. Rooms on the other side however (the so-called "patio" rooms) actually look out onto an internal walkway, making them dark and potentially lacking privacy. I put up with this only two nights before moving to a sea-view room. The hotel is not a non-smoking property, but there is a non-smoking floor. You'll find people smoking everywhere though.

There's a small but well-equipped gym and a nice pool on the rooftop level with a view out to the ocean. Forget about swimming in the sea or using the beach though, it's not a particularly pleasant place.

There's the usual buffet restaurant, which serves perfectly acceptable, although not particularly exciting food. Every day the buffet is pretty much the same ,which gets tedious for a longer stay. But to be fair there is a pretty wide variety of food on offer each day. The breakfast buffet is quite good, the other meals are too expensive for what's on offer, but then you don't have much choice. There's also a fancy-looking "Kuwaiti" restaurant, but I didn't try it as I couldn't bring myself to have dinner all alone in this apparently never-used restaurant. I never saw anyone eat there. Maybe it's new and has yet to become known?

Rooms are well-equipped, the WiFi is free and relatively fast, the beds are huge and comfortable with nice linen, the bathroom is well-appointed with large towels and shower and bath. There's an iron and board, tea-making facilities, lots of lights, a decent television and plenty of storage. The rooms are probably one of the strongest points of the hotel.

The hotel designer obviously had a thing for blue lights: the exterior has blue floodlighting, the bathroom glows in blue light (you can turn on normal lights), the elevators a bathed in a dim blue light - you get the idea. The whole hotel, especially the restaurant is subjected to an incessant elevator-style piped music which gets on your nerves after a while. There's only so long you can listen to "Greensleeves" and "Shadow of your Smile" while you're trying to eat!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the sea side, unless you enjoy a dark gloomy room looking out onto a public walkwa...

I stay here a lot every month. I am tired of this place. It never changes especially the food. The restaurant buffet never changes and is overpriced for what it is.The breakfast is also just as boring. It is also too far from the city or any of the outer suburb shopping areas. It is a nice enough hotel, and it is on a beach, but beware as the locals use it's facilities at weekends so there is no privacy. Security is really strict and petty - and they monitor your every movement - I have never seen so many CCTV cameras in a hotel. As for taking anyone to your room.............just forget that, as it is Puritanical in attitude. The rooms are good though and offer all amenities. The staff are also pleasant enough - mostly Asian - and helpful. There is also an issue of where the hotel is located in Fintas.Way away from anything - and you need to use a taxi to go anywhere which in itself is a death defying experience! It is in a Country that is centuries behind the rest of the World. Very restrictive. Sure Kuwait has amazing shops ......but there is more to life than that. The hotel could do so much more to encourage Westerners - I remember in Qatar in the early 90's which was also very strict, the Hotel had a very good 'members only' Library!!!!!!!!! that served very nice drinks to it's guests. I am not sure whether other Hotels in Kuwait are as restrictive - probably they are...... it is not Dubai........that is for sure. It is hard to believe that the place was liberated from Saddam -and has not yet moved forward.
So would I stay here if I had a choice?- No. I would stay nearer the City or near to any of the main shopping Malls -because there isn't anything else to occupy you in Kuwait.

I stayed at Safir for nearly a month. I stayed in an apartment/suite. Rooms were very spacious. Big flat screens in the bedroom and living room. The living area had a semi functional kitchen with a microwave. Nice comfy double beds with clean sheets. Clean toilets and i loved the huge bathtub. It did not feel like i was in a country wi

Good breakfast buffet. However, there is not much variety from one day to the next.

Hotel has a small but modern gym and very enthusiastic trainer. Also, has a small pool on terrace with good views of the ocean.

Room Tip: The apartments are a good value for money, if you are small family of 3. The suite is quite spacious...

Stayed with my family in the hotel in 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the arabian gulf. We enjoyed the family atmosphere and the personalized service provided by the staff of the hotel. The apartment was very spacious and 2 separate master bedrooms with a nice view. We dined in al roshana kuwaiti restaurant we enjoyed the food and the quiet place. Then we tried the beach garden where my sisters enjoyed the kids play area. Room service was awesome. Try the pool on the top of the building with an amazing view.
