It's a great getaway at times, any time of the day, be it early morning, noon, afternoon, evenings ... a place that has bits of heritage ( not all of it ) and bits of new market style within...

you can go solo, to walk around and shop , or dine ... or you can hang out with friends there ...

You may see some parts of the Old Market, with the old crafting shops and tailoring for traditional outfits. The old fashioned fresh food market, which is fabulous, you get the best fish in town, all fresh ... fruits and veggies ... pickles ... spices ...etc

In addition to tradional goodies, such as henna, tradional perfumes and accessories ...

The perfume shops are the best there, the tradional scented wood, scented oil mixtures ... fantastic great scents and authentic perfumes ...

There is a huge gold & jewelary market within Mubarakiya ... where you can buy new, sell old, or repair and even clean some of your jewelaries ...

you can also have a snack, or an actual meal ... depending on your budget ... you may find the fancy lovely cafes and restaurants, or the very casual grill shops ... or just sandwiches ... with a open air sitting areas ...

sadly, in the past years, the market got flooded with low budget clothing shops selling not very good quality clothes, but mostly for low income people. Nevertheless, the market has not lost its magic, you can see rich/posh people enjoying their walks and shopping side by side with the unfortunate ones , and many buy the same essential things from the market :) , or just enjoy their time ... it's really a nice scene ...
