We, as a family with little kids, had a memorable time at the Grand Mosque, the central mosque in Kuwait city. Our guide, Mr. Suleiman was extremely pleasing, patient and knowledgeable. He gave us a beautiful insight into the Islamic philosophy and the architectural style of the mosque. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Kuwait. The guided tours conducted daily (except Fridays) from 9am to 11am and 5pm to 7pm are free of cost. They also offer refreshments in the lounge.

Nice place to visit not only for the architecture, also charming people are working there ready to give you talk about Islamic culture. Arabic classes were available as well.

Countries all over the Middle East and Europe have contributed to this beauteous building. The woodwork, ceramic tile, stained glass, chandeliers, windows and carpeting all boast their respective pride in their origins. The main prayer hall is both ornate and serene and it is truly an honor to be invited in to such an awesome space. The outdoor courtyard complete with fountains and trees is not to be missed, either. No matter your political or religious leanings, this building is an architectural marvel. I was blown away.

Grand mosque will be a place of interest only for religious Muslims, otherwise there is no specific reason to see the building. It is an average mosque.
