Stayed in this new hotel for three nights on Eid Holiday, it was amazing !! Loved the place so much ! The hotel is a piece of art , stunning interiors in the lobby and its surroundings , rooms are clean and got enough space too. Because it was Eid, we had breakfast in the enormous Badria Hall which was a plus too with so much food to choose from. My only note to the hotel management and I understand this would happen all the time, and because it was Eid, it took me around 20-30 minutes just to get into the hotel to check in, there were at least 30 cars ahead of me and they were moving slow , so better be prepared for such active occasions in the future.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback and recommending us on the Tripadvisor. I am very pleased to hear that you have enjoyed your stay and that you loved the hotel design and its surroundings. I am very glad you have been excited with our delicious breakfast buffet. We are very proud on our Badriah ballroom and I think it was a good idea to give our guests a chance to enjoy their breakfast in this stunning place during the EID holidays.

Thank you as well for your note about long time to arrive to the hotel. It really has been extremely busy period with many guest arriving at the same time. We are currently working on options that would prevent any queues upon arrival to the hotel during busy period in the future.

Once again thank you for your valuable comments and sharing your review on Tripadvisor and looking forward to host you again at our amazing property in the near future.

Yours sincerely,
Mark Griffiths

We heard that the Jumeirah finally opened and went with some friends for a weekend. Nice setting overall – a bit crowded when we were there. We had one of the chalets - liked it a lot. Awesome pools and outdoor area. Had a good evening at the Pool Café – nice view and good food – after to the Kuwaiti Café near the lobby for Shisha – top. Next day we had Dinner at the Meathouse – packed but if you eat there you know why – best beef. General very friendly hotel staff – better than other places in town.

Room Tip: chalets are nice

I spent a great weekend with my wife over Eid. The Pool and Beach is wonderful. The room was comfortable and we had a nice view. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I think they have the best breakfast buffet in Kuwait - unfortunately it was too hot to sit on the terrace but this must be great after the summer months. The Seafood restaurant was not open yet but we had a wonderful evening the in the Steakhouse Restaurant – not easy to get a reservation as it seems very popular. The Spa is also not open yet but they told us it will open in September. Overall we finally found our hideaway in Kuwait.

Room Tip: ask for Garden or Sea view

My wife and I stayed with one of our daughters for a few days at the beginning of June. The hotel had just opened and as is mentioned below, they were inundated not only with guests but also with locals trying to come in and use the facilities. This had a necessary effect on the level of security and checking e.g. to access the pool area, however it was not too obtrusive.

We found Mark Griffiths the perfect host, he was often to be seen in the reception area ensuring that guests were happy and given the hotel had only just opened, he was remarkably calm. In general the staff were good or excellent quality. There were a couple of issues which do not warrant a mention here as they were resolved quickly and efficiently.

The food, from breakfast, to the pool restaurant, to in-room dining, to Pepper the steak restaurant, was simply top class throughout. We have visited the Jumeirah hotels in Dubai many times and Messilah Beach was no different.

It was a pity the spa was not open at that time as it looks fantastic but we will be back.

Great hotel... Very opulent from the time you enter... The hotel is new and looks in great shape. The rooms are fabulous... Very modern... Beds are out of the world... Restaurants not all are open but the pepper steakhouse is simply wonderful... Only if we could have alcohol with the steaks :) mint is perfect for a poolside lunch.. Garden cafe breakfast is amazing... And the best part is complimentary airport transfers in an Audi A8... Wow that was the icing on the cake.

We stayed here for 4 nights when the hotel was quite new (only 2 months old, I believe).

It's classed at a 5 star resort, and certainly most of the facilities were up to par. We had a 3 bedroom apartment which was massive and very comfortable. The pool area is nice with multiple pools and an infinity pool that overlooks the beach. 3 of the restaurants were open; we visited two of them (Garden Cafe and Arabesque, though we did not eat here) and enjoyed both.

The food is outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast buffet at Garden Cafe, and their international buffet is a must -- some of the best hotel food I think I've had! We also ordered room service a couple of nights and the food was great; the biryani portions are generous and delicious!

Still, there are areas that need improvement, especially if this hotel wants to class itself as 5 star, particularly in the service department. There were a few incidents which did not quite gel:

- The security staff, stationed in the lobby and at the lift and pool entrances, are very diligent about making sure that you are staying at the hotel. I have no problem with the fact that security exists, but as a paying guest of a resort that claims to be 5 star, I would expect the staff to have a better memory. After the first day, the fact that we were asked regularly if we were staying at the hotel, by the same security staff, became really annoying. Instead of being able to freely enjoy the premises, we felt like trespassers as we stood at the borders, waiting for the security staff to shuffle through the pages on their clipboards as they verified our details.

- Staff, in general, need better awareness of the hotel layout. There were 6 of us staying in a 3 bedroom apartment. When we arrived for breakfast the first day, the maitre'd asked for our room number. After we told her, she enquired about our other rooms and wanted those room numbers. When I explained to her that we had a 3 bedroom apartment, she was skeptical and rang to confirm this before seating us. This caused me irrational rage.

- Bottles of water are available for free in the hotel rooms. However, if you order the same bottles of water by the pool or in the lobby bar, they come at a cost.

- Free private transfers are available to and from the airport, which is only a short distance (15 minutes) away. However, they are only available on an hourly basis with apparently no room for flexibility, which would be understandable for shared transfers, but seems odd and inconvenient for private transfers.

- We had booked 4 nights, and arrived at 3am on the first night. While no special tariffs existed for this situation, the reception staff told us they would do "something special" for us, which never eventuates.

- The spa was part of the reason we picked this hotel, but itwas closed. This was not noted in the marketing material prior to our booking.

Overall, the resort definitely has its good points and is nice enough, but it is very new and there are definitely a few areas that could use improvement. Perhaps these will come with time and completion of the resort.

Being one of the newest hotels in Kuwait, Jumeirah Messilah is one of the most modern and luxurious hotels in the country. Location wise it is a bit far from the city centre, but if that is not an issue then it is the one to recommend.

Beds are super comfortable and quality of linens is one of the best, you will surely get a very comfortable sleep. The bathrooms are a bit tight, and sadly I got one with a bathtub with no screen or shower curtain! I cant imagine in these days anyone would have just a bathtub!

Staff are super friendly and helpful. Checking process can be improved as it was taking too long in my opinion.

Had a problem getting a taxi! we had to wait for nearly 30 minutes just for a normal taxi to arrive and when it did the A/C was not working! imagine riding in a taxi in a 47 degree weather with no A/C. This needs to be improved and taxi's should always be available for guests and in proper working condition!

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room with a shower! and over looking the pool.
