“Big Rooms Close to the main Market”
Reviewed 8 February 2014

I stayed with my wife & 2 children, rooms are big and nice, hotel is close to the main market, so you can go by walking to the shopping area within 10 minutes & good value in Kuwait,, we liked this hotel close to every thing but needs a car.

Room Tip: Big and clean rooms

This is a fine hotel for convenience, value for money and comfort. Don't be expecting 5 Star luxury nor absolutely spotless rooms (although they aren't dirty either). Check-in was efficient and pleasant. The room was spacious with a lovely view of Liberation Tower. Beds are very comfortable. There are tea and coffee facilities in the room but we had no cups! There were no towels either but a quick call to reception sorted things out. It's a very easy-going place. The receptionist on the last day was very helpful in communicating with the taxi driver we had hired. Great value for money.

Room Tip: Get a high floor so that you can look out at the communication tower.

If you need any room to get into for a night, then Gulf Rose is certainly a good place to choose in terms of price, followed by a good looking interior and perhaps a good view of the city. However, the hotel forgets how simple customer service would be the final piece of the puzzle to have made our experience a better one.

Me and four friends booked for two nights in the hotel during Eid, where one of the rooms were still not ready. We've been told it would be ready in 10-15 minutes, which ended up being 4 hours instead, even after constantly following up with the reception. (It still wasn't clean)

The plumbing was a bit strange, as the pressure of the water wasn't able to reach to our floor.

A few members of the staff seem, half of the time, not interested and just want to get things over with. Eye contact was missing.

Even when we were about to leave, we were not asked about our stay, even though we informed the receptionist that it was our first time in Kuwait.

The ambiance of the room and the beauty of the city overshadowed the experience with Gulf Rose's staff, which is not relevant for a person who aims to spend a night in Kuwait.

Room Tip: View is great from the top floor.

I stayed for one night in this hotel on 25-Sep as part of a business trip to Kuwait that too for 1st time. I got this hotel name from trip advisor and requested my travel desk to book. Though the booking was for higher rate, to my surprise bank gave me a on the spot discount because of off season. The location was a central location bang on a junction. I'm a vegetarian & was travelling for 1st time to Kuwait with no clue for getting food. But, when I came down to the road, the hotel was surrounded with handful of indian (South & North) restaurants and food was excellent. I could not imagine Vada+Pav at Kuwait and was tasty as well..

Value for the money !!

Booked this hotel online as I was needing simply a place to stay from end of business until 2AM in morning.

No restaurant yet - GM told me it's coming soon (1-2 months).

Friendly staff, decent rooms, very centrally located close to the market hall.
