The problem really seems to be the noise. Otherwise this is a decent hotel. We stayed here for 7 nights and we were quite satisfied. It depends always what you expect from a place . This was not a pleasure trip for us, so we just were happy with very clean, crisp sheets, fresh every day, fluffy towels and the beautiful view, which cheered us up. The personal was friendly, welcoming and helpful. This little hotel would be super with new furniture and a little renovation. And if there would be real coffee instead of the Nescafé for breakfast it could be grant.

Room Tip: We had no 307, it's in a corner so the noise from the hard rock bar is tolerable, but there is t...

I have just came yesterday from my 3 days trip to beirut (not first time)..the hotel has no advantage but its location on the cornich..my room 105 was too noisy to a limit that i barely slept for 3 or 4 hours each day..i complained to the satff about it at the same day i arrived and they promised to change the room the day after due to the full occupancy..however they didn't. furniture in the room is very old and beds are so uncomfortable. breakfast is nothing but average.

Not a 4 star hotel.

Thanks

Room Tip: Avoid room number 105

Stayed here for two nights in November. It's a great location, right on the waterfront, right above the Hard Rock Cafe. The staff were very pleasant, polite and helpful. Was offered an upgrade to a 5th floor suite, probably because there were very few tourists in town at that time. The room was large and comfortable, but stank of smoke, as I suppose most hotels in Beirut would do. The problem was that being on the 5th floor and having a great view down the Corniche was tempered by the fact that the dance Bar was directly above. The night I was there I got virtually no sleep as it felt like the entire population of Beirut was stamping on the ceiling, combined with the constant boom boom of the so called dance music, it did not provide much peace. Breakfast was the usual buffet style, nice, nothing spectacular. The hotel arranged a driver for us to take us to Baalbek and Mleeta. Overall a bit of a mixed bag. Very good service and very pleasant and helpful staff, but don't try and sleep.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the 5th floor

Great location, one of beirut's nicest areas, very lively! Right across the road from the sea - stunning view especially during the sunset! Right next to the hard rock...many cafes & restaurants nearby. Walking distance from the Hamra area...and easy to get to all other touristic areas! Cosy hotel, not your regular 4 star hotel, has a nice feel to it. If you're a light-sleeper don't get rooms in floors too close to rooftop lounge/club as music is loud.

Room Tip: Tip: Not sure if all rooms are seaview-but why not double check!

After staying at the Le Royal for 3 days for a conference I moved to the city and was booked in to Bay View...I thought it was a decent business traveler hotel.. but once I got there it was a whole different experience.. It was excellent room wise.. the view was stunning and more importantly the service was excellent. The location is great.. it takes ten minutes to walk to Hamra.. the main shopping district... and its really close to AUB.. which is amazing if you are looking for a breath of fresh air... all in all.. love this place...given the pricing.. I would stay here again...

Room Tip: Get the room facing the ocean on the second floo

We arrived at some ridiculous hour like 4am so instead of sleeping on the couch in the lobby we checked in early to the only room available which was room 401. I am not sure whether this room is ever sold to guests (or perhaps just those who arrive early and need a bed) but the bathroom has very bad leakage from ceiling. Unless they have repaired this room do not accept it and change rooms.

Apart from that I would still recommend the hotel as the rooms are large and if you get a suite, the shared terrace is lovely.

Stayed here after the Palm beach had problems. I was promised a sea view room due to having to move but didn't get one. The room I got was large and very comfortable except that it overlooked main road leading from the Corniche and on Saturday night, it seems to be a constant bottle neck with all of Beirut out beeping their car horns.

I unpacked and headed up to the roof where they have a great bar that overlooks the bay. Cool chill out music added to the bay views. Breakfast is in the same place but is not great.

The staff upgraded me to a junior suite the next day and things improved considerably. The road was quieter. They will also provide good information on tours etc and I enjoyed mine with Nakal.
