“Great Place to Be !!!”
Reviewed 13 September 2011

Great experience especially after the first experience in another hotel in Beirut... Good service people are nice food is good didn't like the noise from the street but better from hammering noise... Food was ok however we got delayed on one lunch for 45 minutes before getting our order but supervisor came and apologized. nice location pitty no sea view .. ROom was big and nice .. busy breakfast room juice was not fresh as described but in general we enjoyed our break in this hotel despite the few remarks .... Staff very friendly and nice decor of the hotel

Room Tip: Choose the room away from mosque

In couple of words: it's not a five stars, it's a seven and deserving to be. Every detail is just perfect.

Le Gray is a fantastic hotel, excellent service, stunning rooms, great location, very friendly and helpful staff, and simply but great designed. the artworks in the hotel are fantastic.
from the pool with transparent walls one can watch beirut from above, the cigar lounge on the roof is very recommended for some beers before going out, gordon's coffee have some nice pizzas and breakfast.
the concierge is very helpful in organizing trips.
it's not cheap but definitely worth the money!

My husband and I spent 7 nights at this hotel and without a shadow of a doubt it was one to the best hotels we have stayed in. We are very keen on Four Season hotels and before going we couldn't decide on which hotel to stay in. Having read different reviews on the site we decided on Le Gray.
The hotel building itself is fantastic. Every design detail is just right. The corridors on each floor were such you didn't see thousands of doors making you feel you were staying in a very special places - which you are. The room was very big and had a separate dressing area and bathroom with shower room. The tea and coffee facilities were brilliant. We had a Jura coffee maker and one could ask for free fresh milk whenever you wanted. The machine used fresh coffee beans that the machine itself grounded and then produced delicious coffee. The service at the hotel, anywhere in it, was superb and the views from the 360 degree bar and restaurant were memorable- especially at night.
We found the location of the hotel very good as it was near a very nice quaint new part of the city that had been very tastefully rebuilt. It was also near a restaurant and bar area. We had a number of meals at the restaurant on the top of the hotel and the food was extremely tasty - beware of the fresh bread - it is far too good to ignore and there is the danger of eating too much and spoiling your appetite ! We also ate at the restaurant on the ground floor which was also really nice.
However good a place is, one can almost always find a fault somewhere, but with this hotel I really can't . It was perfect. If you are visiting Beirut and you want to stay somewhere special this is the place for you. We were suppose to be going on to Syria but we had to cancel due to the brewing trouble there, though we were disappointed that we had to return early , the fact that we had had such a fantastic time at Le Gray made us feel we had had a great holiday though it had been cut short.

I can say I have stayed at a fair deal of amazing hotels and there is always something wrong. I have to say that Le Gray was perfect in every respect. From the gorgeous bathroom, to the egyptian cotton linen and 100% down pillows it was the best sleep I have had at a hotel ever, and I am very fussy with this. Great espresso machine that left my foodie husband enchanted, great room service food, fabulous products from REN, great selection of premium booze at the mini bar, impeccable service. Wow Beirut, I love you!

I stayed at the Le Gray on a two day mini trip to Beirut. The hotel is absolutely wonderful. The location is perfect, the designer stores of downtown are across the street with the bars of Jemesi a five minute walk away. The room was stunning, one of the best that I have ever stayed in and I stay in a lot of hotels. Beautifully furnished, an easy and comfortable mix of hip and classical without being either ostentatious or overly fussy. I had room 400, if you can get the chance book it, a sizable corner suite with views over down town. The attention to detail was the really impressive part. An espresso maker, plug adapters, really high quality bathroom products, a good tv selection, a range of novels and coffee table books, complementary pressing service (which returned clothes within about 30 minutes), there was not much they had not thought about. Intelligent, attentive staff who listen and most importantly, say ‘yes’. I needed a pair of shoes mended, done in 2 hours. Lisa the concierge is a gem. I wanted a good walking tour, instead of the usual 5 star focus (get you to the designer stores as quickly as possible avoiding all normal people on the way) she outlined a brilliant route taking us to funky art shops, artisans and a wonderful organic restaurant. In short she figured out what kind of people we were and designed a tour which was just about perfect. Finally, the dry martini stirred not shaken with a twist served on the roof terrace was a thing of pure joy. If you travel a lot, if you like things done perfectly but with a twist and if you require attentive, polished, discrete service this place is gold.

Room Tip: Room 400, breathtakingly lovely
