This is a guesthouse/B&B in a period building, not a bland highrise 4* hotel. As such, it has tonnes of character, every room is different, but if you need double glazing, concierge service, hairdryers and sterile surroundings this place isn't for you.
What is is a place with friendly hosts, who are very helpful. They serve great breakfasts on the terrace which has a lovely view of the neighbourhood. Breakfast was different Lebanese specialties every day. The best we had in Lebanon!
There is a shared living room which you can use if you want- to read or to chat with other guests, There are only 4 rooms so there are rarely ever too many people around- given that most guests will be out exploring the city. The places seems to attract more experienced, independent travellers in their 30s and 40s- not a wild young crowd.
We had the North room which had 2 rooms which was ideal as we were travelling with a child. we were made very welcome and taxis etc were arranged without a problem.
Given that Beirut uses no street numbers, be sure to bring the directions (found on their website) just in case.
The area is residential and relatively quiet at night (it's an old building and it is a loud city so there will always be some noise) but has plenty of restaurants at walking distance.
