We were sorely disappointed. On arrival, despite out better judgment, we overlooked the conspicuously empty restaurant and decided to have dinner here. Having read about the concept and clocking the pretty ideal setup we were optimistic. About 30 seconds after out mediocre starter arrived a tough, gristly burger and a " Porter House steak" in the guise of a ground burger came out. When challenged, the surly waitress took no responsibility for the inadequecy of the meal. Subsequently we sent the "steak" back after a prolonged and akward discussion of what a steak actually is. We ended up sharing the less than stellar burger along with a complimentary pudding which, ironically, was pretty delicious. Sadly this establishment does not in any way live up to its potential and I would be surprised if it lasted for more a couple of months.

Cow & Apple burger is by far the best gourmet burger at the regular diner price.
NIce and exotic variety, do try the burger with the artichoke spread.
Very nice sides i.e. fried sweet potatoes.
961 brew to moisten your throat.
Desserts are amazingly delicious.
All served by sweet service staff.

Went there for lunch and the there was only one waiter on duty and the place was empty so i cannot say much about the atmosphere. The burgers were good and so was the apple crumble.

All in all I have no regrets, i will come back and let us hope things get better.
I still think it is worth trying.

I really tried to like this place. I went a few times and was disappointed every time. Biggest problem is not the food, but the servers. They think they know everything and try hard to teach you, everything. Their meat is too fatty, not I personally like it, others may disagree. Shame, I really have high hopes for this place. I hope they fix up heir act.

Beirut has seen these last years a boom of burger places. Cow & Apple is one of the new comers, less known as its competitors, but indeed very interesting. It's located on Hamra street (although not very visible from the street, it's facing Crepaway), and has a large dining room. It operates as a restaurant and a butcher shop, meaning that the meat quality is excellent, and that you can buy meat and cook burgers at home. For the restaurant, apart from the quality, Cow & Apple is interesting for the originality of its recipes, making delicious combinations with bresaola, artichoke, and many other things. Side orders are also very exciting: sweet potato fries, Lebanese (makanek) sausages, etc.
So, if you seek a new burger experience, you shall definitely give it a try!
