“Slightly overpriced, overrated hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 January 2014

I spent an entire week at the Queen's Suite and unfortunately my high expectations weren't exactly met. Overall, this is a hotel in a good location (just off Hamra St) with comfortable rooms (if you don't mind the exuberant decorations) but there are too many aspects this place simply gets wrong.

-noise: elevator or generator or other guests: always something to wake you up
-service: contrary to some other reviews I found personnel too laidback - several requests weren't followed up with or just ignored
-breakfast: good for one or two mornings but repetitive after a while
-price: overpriced for a hotel of this category
-room: relatively small, no balcony, tiny and old-fashion bathroom

So overall, I doubt very much I will return to this hotel during a future Beirut visit.

Good hotel in a great location, with friendly staff and an excellent breakfast buffet.

Take care when entering/exiting the elevator, as the floor is uneven. (I tripped and nearly went head first into the mirror at the back of the elevator!)

I stayed there 2 nights. As everyone else has stated, the staff are lovely and it is a great part of town. Rooms were a good size with a nice balcony. Interior can best be described as Arabesque Kitsch but fun for a short stay. All very nice and clean as well. BUT and it is a big BUT, the mattresses are quite hard and worst of all, the sheets and pillowcases have a sort of plastic backing which means that any movement results in a crinkling noise which woke me up several times in the night. Its like having sheets made from brown paper wrapping. Breakfast was average Middle Eastern fare, boiled eggs, toast, feta cheese etc. Filling but not particularly interesting. Coffee on the other hand was wonderful. Sadly, I cannot recommend staying there - after they have fixed the beds, then I would recommend it.

Stayed 4 nights in this Hotel and had a very good time, the staff were very kind and helpful, the location is perfect just in the heart of Hamra Street, the rooms are big enough, and the breakfast offered was good.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 March 2013

Checked in on 7 March 2013 for 5 nights. The hotel is located just off Hamra Street so very handy for everything that Hamra has to offer.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and always very pleasant.

The hotel itself is a little over the top for my taste but my room (801) was functional with a large double bed, small table and chair, wardrobes, small kitchenette with sink, fridge and microwave and a bathroom.

The overall quality of the room was okay - it seemed a little tired with small issues such as the curtains not opening properly, the furniture had chips in it, and the shower cubicle could have done with a really good clean.

The cleanliness though of the room was good with fresh sheets and towels each day - although I am happy to not have these changed every day, but there wasn't an option for this. Apart from the initial two bottles of water, everything else was charged for and the mini-bar prices are expensive.

I loved having a window to open and was happy it wasn't the middle of summer as the A/C unit was not great.

I didn't have breakfast as you really do have plenty of other options, all within walking distance.

Overall, I would recommend this as a great base from which to explore Beirut and Lebanon. If you want to spend a lot of time in your room, or wish to have a swim, then this isn't the place for you.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 February 2013

Friendly staff , nice breakfast , excellent location and spacious room , however the rooms are non sound proofing , i kept hearing neighbors all night , very bad maintainence , the jacuzzi and bathroom ceiling were leaking , no safe was found though stated , the driver did-not show up at pick up time and the dinner for half board was very poor and with no choice

Room Tip: Executive suite is over rates , would be enough to have a standard double room
