Am writing this from the Intercon Le-Vendome. Very nice rooms and nice hotel. Bathroom is pretty small and shower is poor and very dated, however. Definately needs a do over especially for the price. I paid circa 500 USD for the room which is too much. Beirut is very expensive, but should be able to stay somewhere comparable for less. Service is very good and the people are very nice. No pool or gym, but you can use the pool across the street for free or the gym/pool at the very close intercon phoenicia for free. Location is nice--beautiful sea views and close to down town.

this is heaven to stay with! I am stying with a lot of Interconti hotels, but this is clearly one of the best worldwide...
We stayed at this hotel after we came back from a trip outside of Beirut - we stayed at the Four Seasons in Beirut for the first part. The Vendome is just amazing in terms of service! Yes, the Four Seasons is brand new (we stayed there even before the official opening) and hyped, but clearly cannot compete with the Vendome in terms of perfect service & staff! Location of both is similar, but the Four Seasons doesn't have sea access yet.
The Vendome is a bit older, but nothing really feels tired or used up. Every public area is clean and kept to the highest standarts.
Rooms are amazingly clean for the Middle East with perfect up-to-date bathrooms and amazing sea views!
Security is strict, but hardly noticable.
Location opposite the glitzy beach club, La Plage with it's great restaurant directlty on the sea, is amazing and the entance is included for Vendome guests...
We will most defintely come back to Le Vendome - the Four Sasons has to work on their attitude first before it can challenge the "old" players!

This hotel met and exceeded my expectations. The staff were always so helpful, friendly and courteous. The room was lovely - clean, spacious and quiet! And there were the little extra's included in the room costs...fresh baked treats replenished each day, a 15 minute neck massage (heavenly), amazing breakfasts, comfortable beds. Bliss!

My husband travelled here with is family for an event at the University. The staff was incredibly helpful and inviting. Our room had a gorgeous view of the med. Upstairs the restaurants overlooks the sea as well.
The room was comfortable as was the bathroom.
We would most definatly come back here.

Classy hotel, elegant and in the best location in beirut, I stayed here celebrating my wedding anniversary, and the staff & service couldn't be better.

However, this is a boutique hotel so if you are expecting large lobby and setting areas, or if you are big party go to its sister hotel few hundreds meter away.

if i know the quality of this hotel i wouldn't bother splitting my reservations between multiple hotels, I definitely will come back

Never again. We chose this hotel because it was meant to be the best in Beirut. Our room cost a lot but we only receive bad service and headaches during our 4 night stay.
They sell themselves as a high class boutique hotel. The reality is far different (apart from the very good breakfast). Problems were: 1) The common areas and the room are dusty, not cleaned well and look dated. Our shower had mould in it. 2) The concierge sent us an email before our arrival asking if he could help in anything. We replied asking for some assistance but we did not receive a reply. 3) 20 minutes after going to our room our luggage had not arrive, so we had to call for it. 4) They do not have a spa so one has to go to the sister Phoenicia which is not far away, but is awful and need a good facelift. They offer complimentary transfer but we had to wait 30 minutes for it and we were put in a taxi which charged us $15 for the 3 minute ride. 5) On day 2 of our stay we received a letter from reception asking us to go and settle our bill. It turn out they had block a good amount from our card but wanted to block more. We fell they treated us like crooks. 6) Two of us were in the room but they would leave only one bathrobe. Every day we had to ask for another one which was removed when they cleaned the room in the mornings. Every day. 7) Our room was decorated with posters of impressionist pictures. This makes it look cheap. They could do better if they charged over $700 for our room. 8) They had block a good amount from our card twice, which was more than the total amount of our bill. This was bizarre. They had to give us a refund but the person at check our said they would do it afterwards. To make matters worst, our crecit card company block the card because of the unusual transactions done by the hotel. I have never seen a hotel actually blocking much more than what the rooms cost. 9) The reception staff answered us rudely when we complained about the problems we had. 10) They do not leave comments cards in the rooms. I am suspicious of hotels who do not do this.
This hotel is not value for money and has passed it sell by date. Our $700 per night room was very small. The bath (tub) is so small you cannot move in it. I am slim and found it very uncomfortable. Only good things are location, free computer in rooms and excellent breakfast.
