I got the offer of new year eve. 250$ including hotel and midnight celebrations. It was good, family type. We got late check-out. But the problem was that they charged me on minibar, knowing that most 4-5 star hotels don't. I did not like that. It was too expensive, around 5 $ for small bottle water. A/C are too noisy.

Stayed here in early June for a group wedding.

The hotel is in a good location, just a short taxi to downtown Beirut. Well appointed hotel, lobby etc are very nice. Rooms are very big with all mod cons.

Small (normal or bigger for hotel size) gym downstairs.

Breakfast had a good selection and was of a good standard.

Two downsides for me - no WiFi in the rooms (as of June 2012)

The Sports bar downstairs and the hotel bar were woefully understaffed for our group and you could regularly wait for twenty minutes on a drink.

We stayed here at an airlines' expense following a technical failure in our scheduled flight. Staff were very accommodating on arrival.

There was a good selection for breakfast and the waiter service was competent and friendly.

The rooms were large if eccentrically laid out - 1 door from the main landing leads down a corridor to 2 separate rooms. Luckily a family member was in the next door room but this could be a security issue for women staying on their own.

The wifi did not work at first and although reception did their best to assist it took some time for a technically minded somebody to help me set this up. The rooms were clean, the minibars well stocked (if you like that sort of thing) and the bed/seating areas comfortably appointed. I can imagine the rooms being a comfortable base for a business trip.

The bathrooms were also spacious and well laid out but I was disappointed to find that the towels were frayed. There is simply no excuse for poor linen/towels in this price bracket and had we paid for the stay I would have complained.

This could be a good hotel - sort out the linens and wifi and they are most of the way there. The bigger challenge is remedying the bizarre room lay out to ensure guest safety.

Concerning the connecting rooms we will try to work the rooms allocation in a better way to make the client feel more comfortable. For the internet issue, the hotel is working to upgrade the internet services soon.
Concerning the linen and the towels, we apologize for what happened , the management will take action in order to avoid such issue in the future .

I stayed here on a business trip. The rooms are clean, well appointed, large and comfortable. Free internet is a plus.
The breakfast was fine - pretty standard fare for a hotel.
The service was very good. The front desk were always helpful, prompt and efficient.
The location is convenient, not too far from the airport or downtown. Typical taxi fares were US$20-US$25.
The rooms are good value for money given the prices typically charged in Beirut.
Being Bierut, there is smoking in public areas. This was annoying for a non-smoker. But otherwise the general amenities were all well maintained and clean.
Would stay here again for business. For leisure, would prefer to be closer to downtown.

This is no longer the Marriott. It is now the Golden Tulip. The hotel is of a good standard, good rooms, clean and has friendly staff. Located near two upmarket supermarkets and good small store across the road.
>>> BUT the internet is a RIP OFF >> $5 for 30min and $25 for 24hrs >>no wireless but ethernet in rooms >>It randomly disconnects.

Room Tip: Smoking is still aloud so choose a non smoking room

Have stayed here many times and overall a good standard of hotel.

Fine Big Rooms, hotel staff are attentive and helpful, food is generally good and located in close proximity to the airport. Excellent corporate rates.

Hotel is a 10 min taxi ride from city centre depending on traffic so beware if you think you are central. Wireless internet far too expensive and the only real downside to this hotel.

I stayed in this hotel from 14th of Nov to 18th of Nov2010 for four days. First of all, it is eccentrically located. You need a taxi for everywhere you go, and taxis are costly given the high price of petrol. And with tourist, they charge 3 to 4 times more. Secondly. inspite of a supposedly five star status, it does not provide simple things like tea, coffe, water or fruit basket on arrival as is the norm in most five star hotels. Not to speak of internet or free buffet breakfast. For every bottle of water , they charge LL5000(3.5USD). for Internet 6 usd per hour, that is really very expensive. Its main lobby that is inside and all entrances to rooms is opening to central vestibule, is not being used, that gives it a youth hostel look rather than five star hotel.Although, i paid around 200USD per single room per day , there are better hotels available at much cheaper rates. The hotel was virtually vacant and no activity of guests was seen that gave it a look of a prison rather than Five star hotel. I was disgusted, but i had no option because i had booked it through a travel agency in saudi arabia..
