Coral Beach Hotel & Resort
Ranked #55 of 113 Hotels in Beirut
Reviewed 26 March 2011

We have spend a week in Beirut because of business trip reason.
It was recommended to stay at the Coral Beach Hotel, which is not located into the hectic city centre, rather than a bit outside, 5 km from Verdun, still on the sea-side, on the way to the airport.

Because of the nice location, it took us only 10 min from the airport for the check-in.
It used to be belonging to the Sheraton Group and the hotel is still in good shape.

We had been up-graded to the "preferred" rooms, which are large with an excellent, completely marbled bathroom.
You have also a nice balcony and view to the sea !

The room is practically equiped with highspeed LAN access ( on charge ) and offers FLAT Screen TV as well as DVD player !

Breakfast was included and offers various, continental as well as local specialities.

The stay was perfect for business traveller, but you have to pay attention that next to the hotel the new Kempinski Summerland Resort is under construction. It seems that it will take another 1-2 years before completing, as the workers are within the foundation.

All in all we enjoyed the stay as personell is very nice and all in all it is not so crowed as bigger hotels.

The room was nice, very clean and comfortable bed. Very friendly and professional staff. Good and fast room service, Breakfast selection was ok. All staff were helpful.

The only thing that I didn't like was the bathroom, very tiny and no tub, the water doesn't pass quickly through the sink in the shower. It doesn't have a ventilation system which keeps-in bad smells and steam.

It's far from down town which might be inconvenient for people who like going to city attracts.

We recently stayed at the Coral Beach for 7 days. The location is not very close to downtown Beirut and it really isn't close to tourist facilities i.e. restaurants & cafes albeit very close to the Verdun area, which was an advantage. Another hotel is being built right next to it so thank god for double glazed windows to block the noise. Check in was convenient and I enjoyed the really quick service of room service, the food wasn't that good but still. Our room overlooked the sea & the swimming pool which was of good size. I didn't really like the fixtures & fittings & the room & hallway colours weren't really that nice but hey, if you're looking for a good priced hotel this isn't bad. Mohammed at the lounge/restaurant was very pleasant! The conceirge transferred a couple of telephone calls from restaurants when we wanted to reserve a table which we got charged for, that I didn't much appreciate. The manager however resolved the issue at check out. You could really ski in the morning and sunbathe late afternoon in December!!!!!

The hotel is not even close to a 3 star hotel .. i had to wait half an hour for them the prepare my room ( even this is not a rush time) ... the service is bad ... the breakfast if below average ,,, dont be tricked with the picture that you see on the site .... its totaly different ,,, the gym is tooo small and most of the machines dont work ... the rooms are also small ( i got the one on the pool view) , and you can hear your neighbers when they take their shower of using the bath as if you are with them in the bathroom...and ladies if you want to do a manicure et pedicure there (DON'T) as they dont have even the table set for that ....
The price is too hight to that hotel .. dont go unless you dont have another opption .... the guys at the reseption need to take some courses and how to speak with the guest ....The only thing that they are good in is when u ask for the bill in 2 seconds you will get it ..

Our room was so tinny for 2 people, No view !!! service was very average. breakfast was very average, hotel was not very clean. Front desk did not have tourist guide brochures and etc we had to go to another hotel to get it .Over all it is an average hotel.

The hotel is pleasant. The pool frequented by Beirutis . Service very nice, rooms
are modern and ok. The location is great if you want to be close to the airport
and on the beach. Unfortunately there is big construction to both sides of the
hotel (new Summerland Hotel by Kempinski). We booked our room through
bookings.com and got a great rate. If you look for a place to stay on the
beach in Beirut and don´t want to spend 300 USD a night, this is the place
to go.

I stayed 2 nights in this hotel and really just can't understand the whiny bad reviews. The hotel is 5 stars all the way, with lovely rooms, many amenities, lovely view overlooking the pool and the mediterranean. The staff was friendly, courteous, accommodating and helpful. My rate came with breakfast buffet including western and Arab dishes. The only negative thing is the TV's remote which was old and was barely working, other than that, loved it.
