“Great mix of city and beach”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

This is an excellent hotel right on the Med and yet a short taxi ride from downtown Beirut. Service is generally good. Rooms are excellent. There is a good selection of restaurants in the hotel. Breakfast in the cafe Hemingways is better value than the buffet - unless it is brunch and you are famished! The middle eastern restaurant Burj al Hamam is excellent. Food by the pool and by the beach is excellent value. Pools and beach area are good. Worth a lazy day!!

Room Tip: Higher rooms have a better seaview

We stayed 1 night in the hotel. Booked 2 rooms and got them connected for the kids. Rates were reasonable. Breafast was good. Pool areas execllent. Sauna/Spa/ Gym great.

3 pools are available. One for adults one for little kiddies and one thats are mix for both.

If you are driving to the hotel avoid using the Valet parking service and park directly in the car park. Valet service are very expensincve and if you are staying at the hotel, they will still charge by the hour.

The beach is very pebly and not ice to swim in

So the positives. Great facilities, pool, location and breakfast.

Negatives, staff helpfulness, my room/floor was rather noisy, which I attributed to the fact that the door had a chunk missing out of the top of it. Also the cleanliness of the room left a little to be desired.

I brought these up at the time of the stay but seemed to not really raise an eyebrow.

This is unfortunate as it could be one of the best hotels in Beirut. The possibility is here. However for me, back to the Phoenicia I go...

Restaurants and food was ok, nothing special, but definitely not bad. I had the surf and turf and wasn't even asked how I like my steak. Needless to say it was overcooked.

Great rooms, great service and food is excellent! The swimming pool was great...disappointed with the beach access; the sea was so much polluted with garbage floating on the surface.
Also disappointed I wasn't able to try the SPA...the lady told me I was supposed to make a reservation well in advance...overall it was a good experience and I had a nice second mini honeymoon...I would definitely come back and recommend it as well.

I just had the most relaxing week-end by the pool with my parents. The view from our room was breathtaking, the sound of the waves was hypnotizing, the pool was so refreshing!
The iftar at Burj El Hamam was a nice experience alsonot to forget to breakfast at Metireanee...
Will be back for sure...

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view to the pool :)

Recently in Beirut for business and I was very happy to have decided to stay there. It is a nice place to come back to after working all day. There is a roof top bar/restaurant, access to beautiful pools and the beach. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.

I visited this hotel daily when travels to Beirut, I feel like I m home, know lot of nice staff working there,
Borj Alhamam Resturant, nice Lebanese food , and nice view, u can check all landing planes to international airport without schedule, they are passing over heads every few minutes,
Rooms are nice, good standard, specially closed to the beach apartments.
Lovely Hemingway piano Bar, really one of the best places during summer time, setting outside u will enjoy lovely music and watch the most elegant and beautiful girls in Beirut, .
Swimming pools, fantastic time is from 8 morning till 13-14 ,quiet nice expensive service, but u can hear players of backgammon enjoying their game, sometimes they are shouting in a typical oriental way, specially when they loose.
Afternoon runaway from the beach lot of noisy children and many locals are coming, Saturday and Sunday don't go to the beach, Whole Beirut is down their , noisy and lot of shouting children , teenagers surrounding all swimming pools.
Usually I spent time on the beach till 12 , leaving before armies of noisy children starts to come.

Room Tip: Rooms only on the sea side, enjoy the view from balcony
