“Great boutique hotel in Beirut”
Reviewed 27 March 2009

Stayed here for my honeymoon, in February.
Top notch boutique hotel, in a nicely restored old building. Location is pretty good also.
I just thought the price was a tad too high, specially the breakfast items.

Superb boutique hotel in the heart of Beirut.

Rooms are well appointed, staff are very attentive and you have a real sense of history in this period property.

The location lends itself to many bars and restaurants.

In comparison to the concrete structures that make up most hotels in Beirut, this hotel is really the only place to stay.

  • Liked — Staff, rooms, location
  • Disliked — The pool on the roof terrace was closed, so no outdoor space if your room doesn't have a balcony

We stayed here for a few days of our honeymoon. My husband & I usually like minimalist decor but we enjoyed the plush furnishing full of antiques. It is slightly quirky but done with good taste. I would say its very French. The service is excellent and the rooftop bar/restaurant is not to be missed though its not a young trendy party scene and more of a stylish garden in a colonial mansion. (The rooftop pool is quite small. You'll have to get to a beach for swimming.) The location is very close to Monnot Street where a lot of nightlife is, and it is possible to walk to the downtown area too.

This is an amazing hotel in a great area of Beirut near the historic and recently renovated Rue Monot where the best bars, clubs and restaurant are located. The suite I had was beautiful, and the service, well, I have never been pampered like this before in my life. I will definitely return to Beirut and stay at the Albergo!

We stayed here for 4 nights and it was fantastic. The little touches of fresh friut every day and fantastic service made it a joy to stay at. They had some repairs being carried out when we were there and without hesitation moved us to a supierior suite to avoid the noise. The pool is small but refreshing after a days sightseeing. Cocktails on the roof terrace are amazing. Situated in a great area for restaurants and bars. Also stayed at the Safir and Movenpick, both of which were great but will definately go back to the Albergo when we return.

I was supposed to stay for 3 nights, but after the first one I just cheked out! Why? The location isnt the best, the hotel is really small (forget the pool) and the rates are high for what the hotel provides. Beirut itself is really nice and I will certainly be back soon. Forget the Albergo (although it is a Relais&Chateaux) and stay instead at the Intercontinental Phoenecia or the Moevenpick. By the way the jewel is the Al Busthan Hotel, but its location (far up the city on a hill oberlooking BEY) is really a problem!

I stayed at the Albergo Hotel for a week while on vacation. This is simply the most elegant and stylish hotel in Beirut. There are only 33 rooms (all of them suites), and so the level of personal attention here is superior. The service is impeccable. The hotel is beautiful, small, undeniably charming. I look forward to returning--Insh'allah.
