This hotel is supposedly a 4 star hotel , i wouldn't let a junk yard dog sleep there. The ceiling is moldy, the carpet is stinky and damp, there are stains on the walls, the air is filled with mold spores (bio hazard). The bathroom accessories are rusted and there is mold all over the bathroom from the ceiling to the floor. There wasn't any complementary soap, shampoo, etc. We couldn't sit in the nasty rooms for more than a couple of hours until we went some place else.

Stayed here on a long weekend trip to Beirut only because it was the hotel included in the airline holiday package. Every minute at the hotel was miserable and I would say avoid it like the plague if you can. When we arrived at the hotel it took them over an hour to find our booking, simply because they were not reading their own booking sheets properly. During this time the staff were incredibly rude and in no way helpful, apologetic or sympathetic to the fact that they had started our holiday off terribly.

Once we arrived in our room it was awful - old, dark, very dated, questionable cleanliness and the bathroom was poorly equipped and would flood every time the shower was turned on. The lifts were constantly getting stuck, which meant that we had to make the walk from out 7th floor room up & down several times. This wouldn't have been so bad if the the stairwell had not been dedicated a junk yard - we were having to climb over old mattresses, building materials and general junk every time we did. Our requests to reception for glasses, a wine opener, any kind of service you would expect at a 3* hotel were all ignored.

I am very much a person who chooses to spend as little a time as possible in their rooms while on holiday so a less than average hotel doesn't really bother me, but this hotel, the staff, the service, everything about it was so truly awful, I have to recommend that your money would be well spent if you spent an extra $20 - 30 on somewhere down the road.

Room Tip: You can get a better room by staying at the Crowne Plaza down the road.

Reception service is bad, you ask for something to be fixed and disappear the whole day and come back nothing done. You try to sleep a little longer in the morning the syrilanka housekeepers make a noise with their Lebanese supervisor talking talking talking. Smell on 7the floor like sewage in corridors and bathrooms and they try to spray glade no way. Bathrooms awful in cleanliness and smell and the water is salty if you try to brush your teeth. I love Lebanon but a hotel like this makes the experience full of bad memories. It should be sold to a new owner and totally totally renovated. Breakfast awful.

Room Tip: Dont try to go their, or else maybe a suite!!!!

This is an unbelievably terrible hotel.
It is tatty, 70's mouldy, ripped wallpaper, stained curtains and carpets, leaking bathrooms, poor reception to TV, dark halls, beds that are medieval torture instruments, outlook over slums and backs of buiodlings, pool needing repair and surly, deceitful staff. It was almost empty when we stayed and you don't feel secure.
You must avoid this at all costs. It rates itself as four stars and I have stayed in hostels superior to it. It is like a spider waiting to catch you in its false advertisding!

The rooms were possibly 15-20 years old. Nothing good to mention whatsoever. Very basic hotel with the most unfriendliest front counter staff I've ever met. No apparent knowledge of service industry especially on how to treat the hotel guests with welcome and a simple smile !! On the 3rd floor where we stayed, the corridor lights were always off, and apparent effort to save electricity. The room lights were also very dim. The air conditioner were only switched on after we called them thrice within 2 days. A total disappointment.

Unfortunately, that hotel does not remind anything that you could expect. It rates itself as a ****A de luxe. In fact, it is hardly *** if not **. Both as the condition, hygiene and service are concerned. We stayed there for 4 nights and it was a regular fight to get what we paid for.
Rooms are spacious that's true, but you can hardly get an impression of an Executive Room and a Diplomatic Suite (which we took). The carpets have not been cleaned for ages and the windows are rarely washed. The hotel claims coffee facilities are offered in Exec Rooms and Suites, but they probably never had it. They charge you 10$ (15 000 LL) for each use of the roof pool, which is the size of a big table and is approx. 1 meter deep, but you are not told in advance. After a complaint, they say a drink is included in the price.
They instruct you not to throw toilet paper into a toilet and perhaps that is why in the "suite" there was no toilet paper at all (delivered eventually on the last night). In the other, "executive room", there was a big technical problem with the bathroom which had a heavily leaking ceiling. The personnel was unable to fix it or change the room because the hotel was full. For the discomfort of having your back wet while using the wash basin or the toilet, or for damp towels as a result of the "rain" inside the bathroom, we were eventually offered (after several complaints) a discount of total 10 $ ! (our room price was 150$ per night).
Furthermore, wile making the booking we gave details of a credit card, but our passports were arrested by the reception which demanded advance payment in full to have our passports returned. Altogether not a hotel worth recommendation, although there were couple of staff who were friendly and understanding, but that hotel apparently lacks good manager, and engineer and a cleaner.
